I am planning to use Hobonichi A6 for my daily journal in 2023 and the reason why I am currently watching your flip-through is to gain inspiration.

Sarica, your journal turned out beautifully, even if you got burn out towards the end. Way to stick with it most of the year. I would love to see a video where you talk about and demo your fountain pens.

in those days that dont happen anything, I just fill it with stickers... idk, it makes me less anxious, I like the feel of peeling out stickers lol I also didnt like how chunky my hobonichi turned out so...for next year I'll try Hobonichi Original Avec

I like the idea of using the hobonichi for journaling, but I’ve used one as my everyday carry planner for the last two years. I admit it does get chunky and hard to write on with the amount of stickers and washi I decorate mine with, but I love the flexibility of the format and that each day has a page.

I love this flip through. Thank you for affirming that it’s ok to not journal daily because I always feel so guilty. I can’t wait to see more of your creativity in 2019. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

What a lovely journal! I used the A6 Hobonichi for the first time this year, too. On the one hand I love it because of the paper and the expense of it encouraged me to work in it more regularly because I didn't want it to be wasted. On the other, I found the A6 to be too small. I primarily used it for doodling and making bulleted lists of my day, adding ephemera, washi, and stickers. I tried to not be too hard on myself when I left pages blank, because the blank pages are part of the story, too. I used a Nanami Paper Co journal for regular written journaling. For 2019 I'm switching to the Cousin Avec for daily documenting, and continuing in my Nanami Paper Co. journal.

Love your flip through! I am always impressed when someone has a filled up (or almost filled up) hobonichi because I find it such a challenge to journal every day!

Your Hobonichi is so pretty. This will be my 4th year using it a journal and second everything you said. Some days the ohs are empty and other days I have much to say. I bought loose tomoe river paper sheets and add them to the days I need more. I started to do the really personal journaling in my tn. I like the Hobonichi’s structure and it has a positive effect for me but I can see why it get stressful and bring that need to write feeling in a negative way. Tfs!

adore this! i'm using hobonichi a6 for 2019 as my planner. it won't be anywhere near as aesthetically pleasing as yours, but i found this video inspiring all the same

I usually buy empty notebooks because I know that I can't possibly update everyday! I believe you could try switching to a totally plain journal? At least it would give you more freedom and spaces for your journaling habits! x

If you still love the book quality, I would suggest using the Avec version (less chunk) and treating the dates as page numbers in a bullet journal- a way to find things again, nothing more.

It's so beautiful! Thank you for being so honest about your use and how it has made you feel. Some of the IG accounts for hobonichi users make me feel sort of ashamed; not creative or artistic or clever "enough." Anyways, I didn't keep up with journalling this year but I'm sticking with the A6 Hobonichi and in 2019 using the weekly supplement for scheduling/ planning and the daily pages to write a story instead of a journal. I also can become pretty negative about myself in a journal so instead, I'm going to write it like each page is part of a story. It may just be about my dogs having an adventure, but who cares 😉 Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for sharing-I'm no stranger to those feelings of shame when I'm bit by the comparison bug! I really love the idea of chronicling your days like a story. And doggie heroes? That's my favorite genre :)

I could never go on with a daily journal. There are days you don't have the time or you just don't feel like it. So I tend to do a brainstorm on the week days and on my day off I just write whatever is on my mind. I feel more creative that way. But anyway, this are lovely pages. I just suscribed to your channel 💓✨

Thank you for sharing, that is one beautiful Hobonichi! I will get my own for 2020 (it is not locally available in my part of Europe). I only use an undated journal that i find difficult to write in because i still need to set up each month. I think i prefer a Hobonichi because all the pages are ready and i can just start writing.

I love my Hobonichi!! Sometimes I do not journal but I do like to sit down and go back and catch up. I do use the avec because it gets so chunky but I am planning on using another in 2019!

I love your videos! And your doggies! I'm a dog lover too. I really love my Hobonichi. I also use the A6 because the A5 Cousin seems too overwhelming to fill out. I used to use a bullet journal and having to create the spreads each month took too much time. I just started using the Hobonichi earlier this year and I really enjoy it. However, I'm finding that as it gets to the end of the year, I'm kind of slacking off because I'm looking forward to using my new A6. :)

Awesome video... interesting perspective. I’ve been writing daily diaries since I was 8yo. I’ve started using planners since high school, mainly for school schedules, assignments, projects, deadlines. 4 years ago, I tried using a Hobonichi planner (A6). And I got overwhelmed, traumatized... you name it. It was as if my 2 worlds of writing, planning and journaling, would clash. And the feeling of “need to write” consumed me. I quickly moved out of Hobonichi, vowing to never touch it again. LOL So, I stayed with Passion Planner (PP). Passion gave me the chance to focus and reflect on a monthly basis. And it worked for me. Until now. My schedule has changed, I’ve changed, as a person... and I will continue to change. Reflections shouldn’t be dictated by time. At a young age, I’ve learned that the more you make memories, the less time you have to write about them. But writing won’t make you forget... they will preserve what - someday - you would wanna revisit. I’ve set up my 2019 planner. And with how my schedule, dailies, agendas, responsibilities all meshed in my days, I’ve found out that the Hobonichi Cousin would suit me. It’s taken me my own reflection, at my pace, to learn how to manage my planning system, and now... in my late 30s, I can’t wait to get 2019 started.

I've been tempted by the Hobo for years, but I'm not a fan of dated pages as I write daily. My solution is to keep a couple of different journals - a cheap composition one for my morning pages, and a TN style journal for creative play. I'm moving the latter in to a regular size (much smaller for me) for 2019 and am curious as to how that will work out. I really enjoyed your flip. TFS.
@melliek87875 жыл бұрын
kisiwa82 Hobonichi came out with a “Day Free” (it has monthly calendars and undated pages) in both A5 and A6 this year! They also have totally undated notebooks too, if the Hobo temptation is from the paper.

Can i ask what photoprinter you use for all those mini photos in your journal! Absolutely love the quality!!
@SaricaStudio6 жыл бұрын
Hi Nathalie, I actually use my big regular printer (Epson Ecotank ET-2650) ! I arrange a bunch of photos to fit on a letter sized piece of photo paper, then chop them down with a paper cutter. Works for me, might be too much effort for others, but honestly it saves money and it's pretty great quality! :D
