I remember that my BFF moved one year ago to another city and I was heart broke. She was my best friend! She stod up for me when I was sad! I remember one time when we had lunch, someone told me that I couldn't sit at their table but my BFF sat there. I was sad and sat alone at a table and then my BFF come and sat with me. She told the bully that she was not sitting whit her and moved to sit with me. She was really my BFF and I miss her so much...😔😥😭 When I wrote this i started to cry when i realised how much I miss her!...😭 But I am going to meet her tomorrow again!!!😆😄😭 And I am from Sweden and only 12 years old...🇸🇪 I am not that good at english...

ngl, my eyebrows knotted when you mentioned projecting negative stuff into other people who show good works, but I'm glad you learned how to turn that around and became more positive. That's very inspiring and I hope more people see this video and start practicing the same outlook. I sometimes still struggle with comparing where I am in life versus my cousins, my friends, etc, but there's not a lack of inspiring people in the world, fortunately.

This is so gorgeous. I love that quote - it is definitely going into my journal. I have a big problem with comparing myself to others, to the point of refusing to make art for months at a time because I don't feel good enough. Also, your handwriting is inspirational. Thank you for sharing this video. 💜

Same! A tip given to me is similar to the one you're using too: looking for the positive things in the other person's work. Another great insight I've picked up is from Chase Jarvis: to not compare myself to others, but to compare my work to other's work. Seems like a great way to grow as an artist.

I'm brand new to your channel and even newer to journaling... it's blank. Lol. This is the first video I watched today and it was perfect! You sharing how you feel and talking about compairing yourself to others was exactly what i needed to hear today. As a super newbie to journaling, its so overwhelming to see everyone's beautiful pages on social media. That's why it's the 3rd and I still haven't made I mark in my new journal! I need to remind myself that I'm journaling for me, no one else, and that there's no wrong or right way to do it! Thank you for being so personal and encouraging me! I'm going to save this video to watch over when I get discouraged so, thank you from the bottom of my heart!! Now to dive into my first journal entry!!
@SaricaStudio7 жыл бұрын
Hi Amanda, one of my greatest fears is the blank page! I imagine many other perfectionists also fear it. It's so hard to accept that imperfection is inevitable, but once we learn to embrace the quirks, it becomes so fulfilling. Journaling is more about the journey than the destination. It's just like you said... journaling is for YOU and no one else! I'm so glad that my little video was able to help to encourage you to start journaling!

I love this video! When I was in my first year of uni taking painting I did everything I could to avoid painting eyes. When we had a figure class I dramatically cropped the top of the model's head and got away with it, another figure class I put a deep shadow... it wasn't until out of desperation I put sunglasses on a model that my prof figured it out haha. BTW it's 20 year later and I'm still too shy to share my work so I think it is amazing and inspiring that you are so open. :) oh and you have the most amazing lettering!

a wonderful video like always! And I fully agree with you. I used to often compare myself in aspects that I'm lacking in, but it makes me a lot more happy to acknowledge their hard work. and knowing that I haven't put in just as much effort as they did, I shouldn't even begin to compare. I also focus on my own growth and it has helped me improve so much more. Really looking forward to every single video of yours 💖

Wow. I have been struggling all week with these emotions. I dont usually envy others, I have many ugly flaws but envy is not one of them and I take pride on that. However, it doesnt mean I dont feel envious at certain times. When I do feel envious I realize Im not really happy with myself and that I just want what others have because Im not content. So I try to work that out. But this week I have been struggling with it. Feeling like my art is not worth it. Feeling like others get more for their art and I dont. And it depresses me to feel this way. I have never watch you before and I think its funny the one video I see of you is about comparing ourselves to others. I wasnt even watching videos on that subject. Another funny thing is Im one if those people that do well with portraits, but you see, I compare myself too. Thank you for this video. Greetings from Florida.

Being good at portraits doesn't mean I can paint space easily, like perspective and all. .. and all people are sad. It's not a matter of what you can do but how you feel. Ow and I love your letters. Can you show us how to do that? It looks like a type machine made it. And by the way .. my letters usually look like a doctor's letters.

I found you on insta! When you write with your Lamy X pen did you have to change the way that you write, so it doesn't bleed through?
@SaricaStudio7 жыл бұрын
craziez2011 hi there! I did not have to change it because Traveler’s Company notebook paper is well suited for fountain pen ink 😊
@craziez20117 жыл бұрын
Hmmmm, I really want to get one but my fear is that plain paper cannot hold up to a fountain pen. Have you ever tried it on a leuchtturm1917? Also thank you for responding, your channel brings me peace!
@SaricaStudio7 жыл бұрын
craziez2011 yes! I have used both of my fountain pens in my Leuchtturm (I have an A5 lined). No bleedthrough on them, just some ghosting which doesn’t bother me too much. I think that Lamy ink and Pilot Namiki ink cartridges do well with Leuchtturm paper, which is pretty good quality. I’m so glad that my little channel can bring peace! That’s so nice of you to say ☺️
