VLOGMAS DAY 24 | alone on christmas eve

I spend both days of Christmas with my dad. I live at home with my parents but I have panic disorder with agoraphobia so going to a holiday to see a bunch of people at once is too overwhelming for me. I haven't gone to anything in 3 years but yesterday a couple of my cousins stopped by to visit me. It was really sweet because I explained to them I couldn't have everyone here at the same time. One cousin left when another came in and made sure I was okay before he brought his gf and little ones inside. I don't have a traditional family at all.. I don't talk to a few people in my family because they don't understand my illness but the rest of my family that does and makes accommodations for it make up for that. :) as my cousin said "of course we understand.. We're all screwed up" 😭 hang in there over the holidays everyone! I know it's tough but it's almost over. 😁

Sarah I love you. Thank you for addressing that not everyone is going to have this perfect Christmas, where every member sits and plays board games and has the best time ever. I hate Christmas. I have such a disfunctional family and every year something goes wrong on Christmas so I dread it. I normally stay away from social media around this time because I find it hard to watch people's perfect lives but you keep it so real I can't not watch you.

My mom never celebrated christmas with my sister & I growing up. That being said, I recently moved to where all my family is and they do christmas big and none of them understand why I keep having anxiety attacks.. all of this is so new to me & having so much family who I need to develop relationships with is new to me as well. It's a lot to deal with so thank you for your words, this is why you're my favorite KZbinr.

So happy that you're vlogging after Christmas ! it's so depressing when all of your favorite youtubers stop at the same time (for a well-deserved break) after 25 days of madness and there's literally nothing in your subscription box hahaha. i was completely alone on christmas eve and christmas, well i worked christmas eve and i work tomorrow, and i live out of state from my family, so i couldn't drive down in time to get back for work the next and my roommates all went to their families. i ended up going to a hiking trail and packing a picnic and smoking a joint because the entire place was empty because it was christmas lol.

I don't even like Christmas or the whole expectations of it and socializing and what not.. I celebrate winter solstice and if was up to me that would be it. Glad it's almost over. And love your vlogs. They are getting me through.

Awww that is so sweet 💗 most of our Christmas my family heads out of town & I can't go cause I wasn't born here sadly so I'm always the oldest teenager that stays here w/ just my mom & youngest sister but what sucked most was that my mom just got surgery 2 days ago and has to be in bed almost all the time including today & tomorrow but I'm very happy to just have her w/ me😊 happy holidays:)

I have spent a good 8 years alone on Christmas Eve and xmas day living in NYC. My family in Ca and not being able to afford to fly home or get the time off work. So now that I'm back in CA, it's weird for me to socialize at any xmas event. 🎄🎁😶

it's weird, right? I used to work years in hospitality, so no xmas/new years at home, and when I finally got to spend xmas properly, it was kind of disappointing - it's actually not a big deal, eh?

My dad usually comes to Oklahoma for Christmas to come see me. This year he isn't, but he's coming down in January because he got a job interview. I have really mixed feelings about all this because...I've been begging him for years to move down here closer to me so I could get to see him since I was 11 years old. And he's doing it now when I'm 21, because he finally decided his job sucks. Like give me a fuckin break. This Christmas is just a stressful mess for me this year. I hope you all have a good one regardless if you're going through something similar to me.
