Nicely presented program. I have a NEO 2. It’s big selling point is some 700 working hours approx from just one set of AA batteries. This is perfect off grid, or when there is a major mains power failure or simply going camping. It has a nice comfortable keyboard at the FRONT of the unit (not squashed up against the screen as in modern laptops 💻), with good sized keys for my “fat banana” fingers. Downloading to a computer takes time but is straightforward. I’ve often taken mine to shopping centre cafés knowing if it got stolen or damaged, it won’t break the bank (I have 2), and it doesn’t contain my person information ... or what websites I have visited. I have even used it to type foreign alphabets by giving letters like Г = G, Д = D, Э = -), etc., then I download all this into my computer and use a foreign language font to correct my work. I think these portable word processors are ideal for distraction free writing.

I own 2. One Neo2 and one 3000. I write romantic fiction and I got mine on eBay, the neo2 I bought brand new unused.

You may have already tried this, but I think on the 3000 you can remove the rechargeable battery pack and just put in 3 AA batteries instead. Then you don't have to use a power cord at all.

I’m obsessed with your alphasmart word processors!! I just found your channel from your Pinterest content. After you painted your alpha smarts, did you use a label maker to remake all the letters and symbols for the key caps (with Japanese hiragana)? Thank you for making the coziest content! 😊

Well this just validated me posting to Pinterest 🤣🤎 thank you! I used clear sticker paper and printed out a transparent image of a keyboard and funnily enough to could only find a Japanese keyboard for that. But it’s fine because I used to study Japanese and lots of keyboard keycaps have hiragana on them :)
