I've got another #vlogmas video for you all today, and this is my favourite yet! Mum and I go on a snowy drive to a delightful bookshop in Grassington, a charming village in the Yorkshire Dales (which you may recognise from the latest All Creatures Great & Small TV series!). After a bit of book shopping, we pop next door for a tremendous festive afternoon tea. I also share the books I've bought my Mum for Christmas (🤫 🎄 ).

Yorkshire is probably my favourite county, there’s something wonderful about the colour and the light, it looked fabulous in the snow ❄️ Grassington looked so pretty, and how nice to be able to drop in for tea, and what a tea! 😍 Excellent purchases and very thoughtful, I’m sure the recipients will be absolutely delighted 💫 I bet there’ll be many a thumbed copy of Louise Boland’s Bookshop Tours of Britain next year, when we’ll hopefully be able to travel around more easily🤞🏻

Oh Miranda, I don't know where to begin to describe the absolute joy I felt throughout this entire episode. The trip to Grassington was so beautiful I literally felt like crying. The little town with the stunning buildings is my idea of heaven on earth. The bookshop and the high tea could not have been any more delightful. The footage you filmed of the drive to and from Grassington was so professionally done. All of the gifts you have chosen for your mom and your friends look wonderful and are so well thought out. I love the endearing relationship between you and your mom. If you don't mind my asking, I am curious to know what your mom's previous work was in which she wore uniforms? It is so sweet of you to choose something to add to her wardrobe each month. With every video you do, my wish list just gets longer and longer. I love Sybil Marshall too. I have her paperbacks which I discovered years ago. I completely agree if you enjoy Miss Read, you will certainly enjoy these books too. I am sure you know of Jan Karan too. Her books are in a similar vein, gentle and full of village life and the characters who live there xx

It’s been years since I visited Grassington, and i remember it being so full of character. I was fascinated by the copy of The Queen’s Book of the Red Cross; what a treasure. Have made a note of Sybil Marshall’s name too, though my groaning bookshelves will protest I know! Thank you for such a cosy vlog. What thoughtful gifts! Since my dad will never see this, he is getting the Complete Novels of Jane Austen. Pride and Prejudice is one of his favorite novels. Grassington, the Stripey Badger, and the Dales scenery looked lovely--what a treat for you, your mom, and us to see! Hi Miranda, what a wonderful trip to Grassington thank you so much for taking us along with you both. You must look out for Woolf Works which ROH streamed a few months ago, I am sure you must know it already. You see, I watched all your instagram stories these days, having watched the TV show "All Creatures Great and Small" last month, and I instantly thought of it. I was thinking "oh that looks like the spot where James gets down of the coach" and things like that. The book is out of print in Spain (where I am from) and the publisher that used to have it no longer has Herriot listed on his archives. I was about to give up and read it in English (my one and only gift, being bilingual) when a good friend told me that someone working in cinema and film was giving away copies of books they no longer needed. We (me and the woman at the film institution) talked and she sent it to me for free! I was half raised at my grandparents farm so this story and your footage of Yorkshire really gives me memories from when I was a child and I led the cows to their pastures. I'm from the very North of Spain and my homeland looks pretty much like Yorkshire but with huge mountains. I hope one day you see it for yourself. I was interested in your love of Mary Stewart. She was my ex-husbands Aunt and I was fortunate enough to stay with her and her husband Fred at Loch Awe in Scotland. She was such an interesting woman and we continued to write until her death. Lovey to see her books in your video.
