Didn't get your question, You have to do btech in all cases. If, You get vlsi job directly after btech then no need for mtech but that's mostly possible only if your btech clg is tier-1/2.

If your IIT allows you to sit for ECE placements then it's possible in btech itself but it is going to be very very tough because Mechanical is not circuital branch. Hence, You have to read everything from scratch of ECE. If they don't allow then you may go for masters. All the colleges don't allow Mechanical for vlsi. There might be few and you need to research that.

No, Once you are M.Tech vlsi from top IIT/ NITs. Your previous degree would not be very important. Yes, There are guys who are in vlsi after B.SC / M.S.C You will be eligible in placement same as other btech students usually and rest would be decided by company as per your performance

NIT Trichy, Surathkal, Rourkela....are top NITs which allow mtech vlsi. I guess Sikkim, Agartala, Silchar are also allowing. For NITs, No need to do much research. When you will fill details in CCMT then ccmt will show only allowed NITs in your list.

Bro ,can something be done in this situation? I am currently in the middle of my six month internship at company 1 and had already got FTE at company 2...both the intership offer and FTE offer came around same time .. December last week.....my PC had told me i should finish my internship at company 1 first but have to join company 2 in the end as it is FTE.The only exception would be if the CTC of comp 1 is higher than 2(which it is)...I want to join comp 1 but now my PC is telling me I can't do that..any solution bro?

I think you have to go as per college policy. If you have accepted company 2 Full-time so you have to join. It's not PC Politics as upto this time you are not sure that PPO will be there or not from company 1 Company:2 came to your college and provided you full time offer so there is some kind of rules between college and company as well. Now assume, company 2 given you full time offer and at the end they decline offer letter. In that case company will face rejection from college. Infact company would get banned if the college is powerful enough. Hence, whichever party either you or company break the rules would have to bear some consequences

Gov jobs: As usual.... applicable for all graduates. SSC, Railway, Banking, UPSC etc. PSUs: Very less for Electronics Students.

Hi sir, i got IPA in NIT Calicut which comes under Electrical department this yr. I'm interested in VLSI domain but cant get into Electronics dept of the college. But I've asked few seniors there and they said i can sit for VLSI drives. Since im from EE GATE, I'm not strong at analog electronics but good with Digital electronics. They don't ask Analog IC design while interviewing digital vlsi profile. Basics of Analog electronics-1 would be enough. Read basics from MOSFET, BJT , Diodes that too for clearing written test. Interviewer won't go into the analog vlsi role for digital profile.

If vlsi companies visits your college for placement then no point to do Mtech. Prepare in btech itself. As of now focus on learning electronics fundamentals. Prepare for vlsi once you get into third year. 8 months time would be enough for vlsi preparation once you are good in basics. So currently focus on basics like network theory, digital, analog etc.

Yes, Only a few IITs allow Btech EE + Electrical gate score. ECE gate score is accepted by comparatively more IITs. Btech ECE + ECE gate is everywhere accepted for VLSI

Choose one domain and prepare first. Start applying for fresher/intern roles once, 75%+ preparation is done. Do networking on LinkedIn with employees of your target companies so that they can refer you once required.

For Optional test Gate 1 mark questions (i.e. Numericals) are necessary however in interview only vlsi related questions and basic electronics is asked. In Analog VLSI role: RLC gate level numericals can be asked.

Electrical vehicles in fact anything, which do some task, require a chip for computation. So, VLSI engineers are required there as well. Smartphone or laptop chips are not that much sensitive while if chip of electrical vehice hangs then it can lead to accident. So, EV chips would have been more fault tolerant and likewise. All this design and Verification would require vlsi engineers. Not sure, if they hires in India but there would be vlsi engineers for sure in TESLA

As per my knowledge, TESLA is not hiring in India for vlsi profile. Secondly, If you want to work on chip design so vlsi would be better for masters. But, If you want to work on ev only then above thing is not suggested. Because vlsi would take you to chip design. It can be for any application smartphone, laptop, space , AI, cloud computing etc...so you may not be the one designing chips for EVs only.

Preparation usually requires 8-12 months of time. But you would require some college / training institute which can bring opportunities for you.

You must have lost touch with the electronics subject. To revise that and to prepare for vlsi, you would require 8+ months even if you go consistently faster

Few companies like Nvidia invites everyone once in a year. But Btech vlsi entry is mostly possible if you are from TIER-1 college and companies visiting campus

Other than that if college is TIER-3 You may prepare and send resume to service based Companies or small startups and work there for few year and finally switch to product based Companies. CDAC PG diploma is also a way followed by students after btech to enter vlsi industry in less time

Hi, Both MS AI and ME Micro System Design are trending domains. You can choose anyone based on your interest. You may prefer AI one as it would surely have great future and higher salaries on avg. But, I don't know about Pakistan job market and universities. For college branch review, you may take help from seniors / alumnis of respective college in your country. Infact you should connect with students already studying in college before making any decision.

Focus on digital and analog electronics as of now. Learn any programming language of your choice preferably C as you wish to work in core ece companies. Once you are done with basics and fundamental programming then you may go ahead to any sub-domain such as vlsi / embedded / ML / SPML as per your choice

If Your sector have Growth then it's not received. You are already at 12LPA so explore your field more. There will be ways to do good in that field as well. Gate, Mtech and Joining Vlsi will take three years. You will get 24+CTC by that time if you get good college and finally a top product based company. But this decision would come with many other factors like start fresh again, cracking gate with 700+ score, Good performance in M.tech, cracking vlsi interview.

First of All, Training or M.Tech VLSI is required to get into. Also, I feel the mtech vlsi from top colleges is best way. I don't have that much knowledge about training institutes but training institutes won't able to fetch you a very high salary. You will be required to work at comparative low salary for initial few years

Definition wise they are different but they are same in the context you are asking. Few colleges name there course M.Tech VLSI, Few say them M.Tech in Microelectronics, M.Tech in electronics systems, Mtech in IC design. All would eventually land you to a vlsi job.

VLSI has an entry barrier and Product based companies hire from top colleges first so, 1. If you have patience and can prepare hard compared to cse. Also, Ready to go for masters if required. In that case only go for vlsi else cse. 2. VLSI is a kind of research field so yes continuous innovation would be required and if you are ready to give your best all the time then stable life would be there. Decide accordingly.
