This Vltimas album is just a whole lot of fun. Doesn’t overstay it’s welcome, gets straight to the point and is so solid. So refreshing to hear David Vincent just killing it after the last few Morbid Angel albums being so disappointing.

Kind of bummed with no Devin review. Death metal takes priority on this channel and would love to see an equal coverage of all the sub genres. I know they all get covered, but it seems the reviews seem death metal loaded lately. I still love this channel and will watch every review, and I always learn a lot from these reviews.

I would love a series in this channel that dives into the themes of the lyrics of albums, from the intellectualism to the emotional depth. A big reason I listen to metal is for its intelligence, not because I like gore or believe in the devil and think he's cool. I'm sure there's a lot of metal heads who want a different approach to metal reviews..something to think about

Excellent review Sam, but I feel like “Everlasting” and “Diabolus Est Sanguis” are the stand out tracks you feel are missing and IMO “Monolilith” is probably the low point. Dave’s vox are as mean they’ve ever been. Metal album of the year for sure, now take it on the road sell some shirts and record another one next year \m/!!!!!

A little trivia, Rune actually recorded the bass on this album because David’s hand was bitten by a rattlesnake just prior to the studio sessions. Got this info from David Vincent himself via Instagram.

I totally love this record. That's exactly my type of guitar playing, vicious, dissonant and super fast. The bass is there, it's just that Vincent kept it super tight and doesn't stray out of his lane. That's the mark to beat this year imo.

I have to agree with you on the album as a whole... Great extreme metal album for sure ..one riff that speaks to me is Monolith ... Vincent vocals are the best I have heard in a long time ...and yes I was expecting BASS!!! Where the beef??? And it does seem little short I almost say it is today's version of Reign in Blood ... I agree. I think this is an excellent album. My issue is that I saw them play at Mystic Festival Poland. David Vincent is one of the most boring frontmen I have ever seen. They were specifically one of the bands I went to see play, and he couldn't have been more distant. Frankly his demeanour was absent at best. As a fellow Canadian, I still adore Flo and Cryptopsy.

Nader Sadek IS SOOOO much better! for the uninitiated: Nader Sadek is another band which brought Flo and Rune together along with Steve Tucker (MORBID ANGEL) and a ton of others like Andreas Kisser (SEPULTURA)and Alex Webster (CANNIBAL CORPSE)!!! this is weak in comparison. Vincent sounds weak af.
