I bought mikuni vm30s for my motorcycle. I couldn’t for the life of me get them jetted. When I did the bike would stall. If It didn’t stall they would run lean. These stores ship these carbs out (ready to run) and I guarantee they are lean. Mostly all of them are lean. I’m really hesitant to get one for my mini bike after I gave up on the vm30s I had for the motorcycle. I put the stock carbs back on and they run great lol. I really don’t have luck with mikunis. They are easy to swap brass on but for me. They are hard to tune to get perfect. Just my opinion.

Hey Mr 66. I followed your video to a tee and it was very helpful. Bike starts on first pull. I’m having one issue though. The bike normally idles around 1800 rpm. If I rev the piss out of it (5-6k) the idle returns to about 23-2400 rpm via tach, then drops down to 1800 after maybe 10-20 seconds. What could be causing this? Or is this normal. I also want to mention that there is no load on the engine since I just put the carb on and wanted to test it, not sure if that matters though

I've always bought the stock appearing bored out ruixxing carbs but now I am getting ready to make the switch and was thinking of getting a 28mm Flat Slide Carb for my modified 224 Mini Bike because everything I've read about these carbs everyone is saying the Flat Slides perform better but they can be a pain to tune compared to the round slides. So my questions are do you have a video out on how to tune the Flat Slides or are they tuned the same way as the round slides just more finicky? Are the flat slides really that difficult to get running right? Remember it'll be my first attempt at a slide carb so........?
