'They' never made many Jimmy Stewarts, even less today. The man was an unshakable bastion of wisdom, strength, courage and good. That he survived the ordeals he put himself through, may actually be a legitimate miracle.

He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, and the French Croix de Guerre with Palm.

The man said B-24 not B-17. . . No wonder Gen. Stewart never talked about his missons. It would have driven him crazy correcting people who couldn't keep the facts straight.

Stewart was an instructor on B17's in the states, but all his overseas combat missions were in B24's.
