Yeah, Arnold is really an incredible renderer. Very easy to get up to speed and get good results. I've heard that Arnold is developing an XPU pipeline soon. Which would be a combination of GPU and CPU

Thanks Cheyne! I turn it off and on for stability. Sometimes I've noticed that Maya will crash when I'm toggling settings with IPR active. Just a habit I suppose.

Are you using Arnold renderer? Also how fast it updates may depend on your computer hardware. As far as renderview placement, there is some guides online on how to modify your setup. Clicking through panels etc.

Man this really really makes me wanna render my stuff in arnold but I just can’t get my materials looking right in arnold just as they do in substance. I’ve been avoiding figuring it out and just rendering my shit in marmoset, but I really wanna learn how to render in Arnold properly. It has something to do with color space maybe idk. In the Render Settings you can set any resolution you'd like if you set it to custom size. Then you can just type in a portrait aspect ratio. Hope that helps!
