why do you use sss? shouldnt be there transmition? Or translucent shader?

Double sided sticky tape works well to flatten those softer leaves. Only need to take one good photo then.

Or bit of blue tack, although it can show through as a dark spot if translucent. Try to make thin little spots to stick down on flat surface. Those thick wavy ones are tricky.

Hello, thank you a lot for the tutorial I have one question. At the end of the video you said normally you likely to blur the edge and the tip of the leaf Can you explain how you gonna do that? I guess you gonna blur the alpha? But does it affect the rendering time?
@BrentLeBlancCG2 жыл бұрын
Yeah it for sure would, some of this information is likely a bit old. Yes blurred alphas are a huge rendering issue. I would avoid it if you can

Hello! I have a plane with grass on it but the grass is only showing up on 1 side leaving he other black and textureless.. How do i get the texture to show up on both sides?
@BrentLeBlancCG6 жыл бұрын
You can use the aiTwoSided node to plug in both textures you want to use for each side. Here is a tutorial by AFP that shows how to do this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnPWeYyGgb-empo

Why not scan the leaf? You could get translucency if the scanner has a lid for transparencies.

Yeah, scanners are great for this too and preferable
