VN800 #3 - Cylinder head replacement Part 1

Going over the broken engine, to check what parts are needed for the rebuild, I also received new "used" cylinder heads, front & back from a VN800 that has 11000 miles.

Well frenchy this horse has been road hard and put up wet looks like the guy i bought it from used nothing but water in the coolant and high temp on every thing. But I'm a persistent ol pucker down to the block already and it's thanks to you little vid, thanks again will try to send you a vid of this hog running hopefully in a few days

Hi, sorry for tha late reply, I will think that it shold fit, the VN800 produce between 1995 and 2003 should have the same part if I am not mistaking.

Question? Once i remove the rigth engine cover (where the clutch is)...(Do i need to replace the gasket for a new one?

Hi, well I will say it all depends how is your old gasket. But I wouldn't take a chance, they are cheap enough. And do you want to reassemble everything with the old one and then put the oil to realize that you have a leak, or it could be something that you can't even see, but if the coolant mix with the oil!!!. I take extra precaution and always try to put black RTV where the gasket is suppose to go and it help keep the gasket in place. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
