Dried off our cows last Friday, and we check in to see how they are doing. I also talk about mastitis and some of the resources we use.
Clover Mountain Dairy is an Organic dairy farm in Northeast Washington State an hour north of Spokane. We milk Jersey cows, leave calves with cows, are 100% grass fed and love dairy farming!

I would imagine that the majority of people who buy milk never think, possibly, that there is anything more to it than milking cows.

What that old book said about cows being with people who like them is very true. The cows that get mastitis always tend to be the PITA hard to work with (through no fault of their own) that get less attention/care. Self perpetuating cycle unless you take the time to treat and heal them properly.

Virginia do you ever treat directly into the udder as some dairy farmers do? One I watched recently injected the udders for dry off.
@vnthomas16
@vnthomas16 2 жыл бұрын
We’ve never injected anything into an udder. Just doesn’t seem right to us.
