I am from Angola, I belong to the Bakongo tribe and I have lived in Germany for thirty-three years. When I was little, my father taught me that the Blood is stronger than the water.- this means to say to the entire African Diaspora that there will be no respect, dignity and peace for the Black race in the outside world until we work to fortify Africa economically, technologically and militarily. It is in this battle that Africa calls all its children to participate in this field that offers us challenges. It doesn't matter if your passport is American, Asian or Latino. Because our ancestors said that the good son always returns to his mother's house. And so, we hope you return so that we can once again guide the world as it was in times past.

We are Africans, no matter where we are in the World. However the African Governments MUST make way for the African decedent to return and settle in all parts of Africa, Africans from the diaspora have been returning and settling in Parts of Africa for over 70 years , still some have no status in those countries, children born from African diaspora returnees are seen as foreigners and have to get passports from colonial countries that their parents escape from, African people must stand up and address these situations with their Governments. Our Africans in the diaspora are dying by the hundreds daily in America an United Kingdom with no representation from African leaders, the AU must make better ways to include the African diaspora 6th Region.

The first shame that we experience here in the Diaspora is to see how our African Embassies humiliate their own citizens when it comes to seeking help or dealing with a passport. Everything is done in a very illegal and corrupt way and this is also one of the cases that makes many Africans ask for the nationality of the countries they live in. And in this contest, I could give the example of the Embassy of my country Angola. By the time you get a document, you've already spent over 900€ including transport for many who live far from Berlin. And the Embassy staff too, want something.

Congratulations on an in-depth exploration of the African Diaspora historical perspective of modern 20-30 ( I presume) year olds. I find there is a missing link in this discussion: the older generation of the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s who have experienced and walked through the similar discussion points, with the exception that they are the missing "connecting" links in this African Diaspora discussion. It is an observation that I offer. Just think, if these particular decades of persons were "connecting" links in this discussion, how much richer and wholistic and revealing our discussion would be. Maybe, next time! It certainly would be the "connecting" link for us today in the diaspora! 😍

Africa is still there... it's not yet too late to rewrite our / their history. Let's go rediscover the real truth about who we are in terms of tradition and culture. Thanks for bringing up this topic. It's very educational.

Maybe that's some of the problems in the black communities.. It's one thing to research your history but it's another when you continue your life always living in the past and never focusing on the present and future... Black people dwell on history that had nothing to do with them. Because the fact of the matter is if the past history never happened you wouldn't even exist today because history would have been altered in another direction... For some reason that part doesn't even register in black people brains .

@0:23 "How much do Black's outside of Africa know about their African Ancestry" It is becoming increasingly disrespectful that Continental African Intellectuals are not accepting the fact that Black's in the West have been here for over half a millennial and we have our own heritage and culture. It is also disturbing that Continental African Intellectuals past or present have never encouraged their own countrymen to physically help Western Black's as we have endured and fought against white oppression and supremacy. These are important facts that Continental Africans should realize especially since Continental Africans are fleeing to the West in extreme numbers. There really needs to be more episodes on why Continental Africans are fleeing and not fighting for change in there own countries.

So glad this popped up in my recommended box! So I'm late in commenting but not in truths...As far as black descendents of slaves in the US are concerned remember that our culture was taken away from us so we don't use African dialects, particular foods or practice the culture. We've created our own culture depending on status. We've been here too long not to be American. Africans and Afro West Indians, Afro Latinos, do not embrace us black America and many don't trust "outside blacks"for the most part, even tho they are here off our sweat, our protests, our pain. I have 15 different countries connected to my DNA including 10 from Africa west and north. Each one is unique. So our lives are basically apart of the fabric of racist America. There are some conscious African Americans but most of us are in limbo. That's one of the reasons why so many of us are grateful for Ancestry, 23andme, etc. to give us an idea of our connection.. My family is also N. Carolinian but I was born in suburban New York. . Thanks for this topic! Dee, long Island, ny

Maybe it’s African American that does not connect! When African American move to any Caribben country theyre embraced, however when caribbean or others come to America, all they can hear is how theyre living off people’s pain, even tho they being immigrants work just as hard and sometimes harder to acheive, but either ignored and are treated with indifference. Caribbean people are not going to bow to anyone but God, so sometimes it’s just easier for people to keep it moving. @@josweetlove1537 That's crazy, cause I heard that Caribbean treat AA terribly in their countries. And after your statement, I can see why they feel so much resentment. No one needs to bow down to anyone, but you guys get to go back to your country and cool off from all the tension over here. The AA are the only group that have no home to go to, so if you feel that we have resentment towards others, we get tired of being the group that has to hold everyone down at the same time it isn't being reciprocated. Why do we have to tell Blacks to buy Black? We have supported every group of people that land on these shores. We supported all financially, we've supported other Blacks that come here when they've been mistreated by this racist society, and since no one is giving bak to us as a group we've decided to be to ourselves. Don't mind helping others in the process, but we have a lot to do with ourselves, look at our condition?

Africans, Africa's Diaspora, we are all the same people because, we share the same blood, same culture, although different experiences in lives but we remain the same people. I should clarify that the concept of Africans, Africa's Diaspora does not necessarily mean only people with black skin color, but all Africans descendants. Africa is on the rise, economically and politically, it is an irreversible process. The idea to have Africa's Diaspora involved in this process, in some sense people can easily misunderstood it as an obligation for African Diaspora to return to their motherland, no, it's not that, it should mean participation in the process of industrialization of Africa in the basic of a win-win situation. Let me be more clear, Africa welcomes all her children to return home at their choice, that's the truth; what Africa doesn't want to see is the Diaspora being marginalized in this industrial development process while people of other cultures are again taking advantage of Africa modernization. The truth is this, no matter where you live, the Diaspora has better access to advanced education, technology, finance, industrial development and others. These are exactly the areas in need in Africa, so your participation will help fill the gaps and accelerate the industrialization of Africa. The Governments of African Countries, have very important role to play, to provide all necessary facilitation and policy advantages toward Africa's Diaspora, in manner that their investment in the continent will bring them revenues which in comparison can even be better than their countries of residencies. This can be done and its practical as well as effective, you have a model set by China in their industrialization process. Now that USA, EU, China, Russia, Turkey, India, Japan are time to time calling African leaders for economic submits, this its a perfect time Africa's Diaspora shall be taking a leading roles. Any country that want to do business in Africa will be most welcomed if is leaded and managed by African Descendent. Conditions like that could encourage our brother and sisters to fully engage in the process of modernization of Africa.

Bro, the panel understood him though and can relate to what he was saying and why he used those terms. That Is how the Eurocentrics tried to placate us to make us feel special, to make us feel as if we are better than other blacks, more intelligent despite the odds against us. Not that we fell for it but by using those terms he was being sarcastic. Some people, especially those who are not of a similar background might not get it. It is quite clear that you do not understand why he used those terms and the context within which he used them, and you are quick to judge him. This just goes to show why there will always be a division. Can’t expect people to integrate when they can’t even understand each other. There are lots of differences to work out first.

Either we accept our actual truth as a people or keep riding the fence of accepting that in which the European manufacturered us to be for the comfortability of their fragility. You are not talking to a man who isn't very factual in regards to this subject but, rather yes indeed you are talking to a man here who began the journey of this knowledge in 1992 and came upon the understanding in fall of 1996! Everything you said, were excuses for us to remain ignorant and in addition of that, for us to continue to play the semantics game of wordplay which ultimately means we are not yet ready to unplug from being colonized, wishwashed Africans in America. Just call it what it is so that we can break the barriers of what is or isn't in our best interests as a people. I'm African! I stand on that and the people on the panel would know exactly what that means without me bending my neck for the sake of playing along to get along or to sound unbiased about race. Race matters, my race definitely matters although we've been muted for closer to 500 years on American soil and I'm not afraid to say it no matter who it offends. I'm African not brown or black. For salvation, we just need to follow the way they did it in Acts? They were baptized in water for the removal of sins and filled with the Holy Ghost. Here's why! The gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. If we are to follow him, we must do the same thing. Death= repentance, Burial = baptism, and resurrection = being filled and rising again from the dead. That's what Acts 2:38 is. We must obey the gospel, 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that OBEY NOT THE GOSPEL of our Lord Jesus Christ... Matthew 7:21-23, Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOETH THE WILL OF MY FATHER which is in Heaven. St John 3:3-5, EXCEPT a man, be born of WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT, he cannot enter into the kingdom of GOD. We can't come up with our own gospel. Galatians 1:6-9, But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Don't be cursed. One way for all people. Jews, Gentiles, and Samaritans. Our salvation has to match up with the scriptures and no scriptures on the subject can be taken away. Eternity is TOOO long to be WRONG! st, John 5:39, Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. The gospels show what Christ has done on the cross for us. The book of Acts shows us the beginning of Christ's Church and how to enter the Church, obeying Acts 2:38. The letters were written to the Church to show us how to behave now that we are born again into the Church. It's better to walk alone than to walk with a crowd going in the wrong direction. Are we supposed to follow the teachings of the apostles? Acts 2:42, And they continued steadfastly in the apostle's doctrines. Ephesians 2:20, We are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone. Don't get Titus 3:5 mixed up with James 2:14-26, about WORKS. One is a WORK of your OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS OR GOOD DEEDS and the other is a WORK OF FAITH OR OBEDIENCE TO GOD. One is letting you know that there are no Works we could have done to make Christ want to die on the cross for us. Romans 5:8, But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. The other is about believing and being obedient to God because you believe. Faith without WORKS OR OBEYING GOD IS DEAD. James 2:14-26. Noah believed and then OBEYED OR WENT TO WORK BUILDING THE ARK. Now that Christ already paid the full price for our salvation we have to attain it by obeying his way to receive it, Acts 2:38! There is no sinner's prayer. Nowhere in the bible in this church age does it state to accept the Lord Jesus as your savior and you are saved. Mark 16:16, he that believes and is baptized shall be saved. FAITH WITHOUT OBEDIENCE TO GOD WILL BE IN VAIN. God bless you
