I loved most of the other songs on the album so much that this one somehow slipped under the radar, and it was only thanks to it being my siblings' favourite that I gave it the attention it deserved. I think the "low" point in that album would be DYWTYLM...and not gonna lie, I now also like that song. The whole record is just a parade of bangers and they're going to need something MAGICAL to match it for the next record, let alone to surpass it.

II is absolutely one of the best drummers alive. As a drummer the way he mixes so many style influences with complex polyrhythms completely seamlessly is nothing short of astounding. Never has a metal drummer had so much "groove" where you didn't even know it was possible; Alkaline comes to mind. Every song, every recording, there is never a moment where II is NOT "in the pocket".

My favorite part is the ending, poetically tying into the theme of the song, teasing the listener with an entirely new experience just to fade out to nothing, paralleling Sleep teasing him with an encounter in his dreams, leaving him frustrated as he awakes to find her gone.

Glad to see you keeping it up! I've fallen for this band, and lucky to see them live this year! Vessel's voice is both soothing and haunting to listen to, the lyrics and instruments make it a perfect union. Nice to hear your professional input! If you're looking for more of this band, this entire album is great, but lately really into Sugar. If you want a more mellow but deep look into Vessel's vocals, maybe hit up "Bloodsport (from the room below)", which is just Vessel and a piano. Or his cover of Billie Eilish (also from the room below): When the Party's Over. Then again, most of their numbers are great, they seem to have struck a cord with me at the right moment, right circumstances.
