Unless the trivia is incorrect I believe the opening sound (that runs throughout the song) is/was some kind of dial tone in the UK?

Oh this song makes me want to cry every single time. You can just feel the emotion in his voice, whoever this is for, it’s from deep in his heart. And as someone who has struggled with my mental health for so long now, it just stings in the most beautiful way ❤

While I do believe that art, such as music, can actually have many various meanings depending on the person whom it's impacting, I do remember hearing somewhere that this song was actually about relationships. Or perhaps a specific relationship. When the artist talks about "Eden" they're referring to the point where their life with their partner was absolute perfection. That point in a relationship where all you know is that you love that other person and just seeing them makes your whole existence worth living. Unfortunately, as some of us know, things don't always stay that way. In the song you follow the artist through their turmoil at coming to terms with the fact that the relationship has gone toxic, possibly even mentally abusive, and the fact he STILL wants desperately to go back to that period of Eden. The "eyes like fire" shows her anger toward him. The fact he sees himself as a winged insect and her as a funeral pyre, displays the torment he feels inside as she figuratively burns him. He admits, and even knows, that he's traveled far beyond the path of reason by staying in this relationship, yet he still desperately wants to go back to when it was Eden. Even to the point of desperately screaming it right at the end of the song. This is an existence that many out there have, and some continue to, face. You get into a relationship that goes sour and for one reason or another, one excuse or another, you can't bring yourself to leave it. So you stay in that toxic relationship because you believe things will get better, or that it's your fault, or some other excuse. You would almost rather die than leave that relationship.

Also "the whites of your eyes" is a callback to the first song of the trilogy "the night does not belong to god" which is sprinkles all through this song. It's resolving the whole trilogy.

Something about the first "night belongs to you" (5:34 in your vid) and the melodies around that makes me teary, and I dont know why. I remember hearing it for the first time specifically and I was weeping walking my dog.

Seen a few comments like this, but having listened to all of Sleep Token's discography and being a fan for years, upon my first listen when I heard 'The whites of your eyes' and I realised what was happening it was honestly one of the most powerful moments I've ever had listening to music EVER, period. The subtle reminder that this is album 3 of a trilogy and they've come full circle, and the epic journey that it's been across all three records, it was just beautiful and I absolutely cried like lots of us long time fans.

I have a question. Is there a reason you have not revisited The Warning in any more reactions? They dropped a new album in June of this year, "Keep Me Fed", and I was just curious. It's not often that you see reactors who have listened to The Warning only do one episode of them. Usually once is enough to hook them, and they go far from there. I don't know... Anyway, their new album is a total masterpiece much like their Queen of the Murder Scene that they did when they were much younger. I was curious is all.

So...i was watching you react to queensrÿche take hold of the flame from the album The Warning in late July 2024...and Evolve came up from another reactor....then i went down the rabbit hole and never looked back. Bought a ticket to see them in Detroit in September. The show was amazing and now i have have favorites off all of their albums....absolutely fantastic. I too still get emotional when i listen to them. You need to watch the 2 TedX videos they have...you'll be floored and will cry again. Im a 58 year old man and am forever changed as a result of finding DPA.

knowing what the lyrics actually say is very important to understanding any song. they are not unintelligibe lyrics if you are familiar with that type of vocalization. If you didn't understand the lyrics, looking them up beforehand could've helped to futher understand the point of the video and song.
