@stanaj -- My daughter & I were blessed to be in the choir for both BOAK concerts, and let me just say that we SO appreciate you using your God-given gifts to be such an important part of this event! Your performance is (honestly) one of the best I have ever heard! So we pray blessings on whatever lies ahead for you! Merry Christmas!

I just can't quit listening to this song. I have heard it many times in my life and at 60 years old it has now become my favorite Christmas song. I'm also love the adding of the choir /orchestra. Just absolutely stunning. Personally, I could sit and listen to great piano music all day, but just watching the movements of the singer and pianist throughout the song just adds to the excitement for me. It's majestic for lack of my ability to come up with the words to describe something so profound. Absolutely love it !!

I heard this version of Noel, 2 years ago and have listened to it since periodically. What an anointed voice. Everytime I hear this song I cry, especially towards the end. What a beautiful performance.

Really enjoyed your insightful analysis of this song (and others)! You were spot on when you talked about music needing to connect and make the listener FEEL (vs. being technically perfect) -- that is so true! I had never even heard of Tommee Profitt (or Stanaj, for that matter) until last October/November when our local choir group here in Nashville was invited to be the choir for the 2022 "Birth of a King" concert (full video recently released here on youtube). WOW! What an incredible experience to be on stage in the choir (along with my daughter) for this concert -- and what a blessing to be in the choir again 2 weeks ago for the 2023 BOAK concert at the historic Opry House (hoping that this will become an annual Nashville concert event)! Tommee retells the true Christmas story in such a magnificent and beautiful way -- he takes traditional Christmas favorites and crafts them into something special using his trademark cinematic style. This is without a doubt the most epic and beautiful Christmas album/project I have ever heard or experienced (and I am 60)! Thanks again for breaking this song down in such a thoughtful way, and introducing more people around the world to the super-talented/gifted Tommee Profitt (and Stanaj)! I pray that you and your family have a Blessed and Merry Christmas! He IS Born! 🙂

@@JohanBesterYourVocalCoach- Amen! He IS RISEN Indeed! (And maybe this gives you a good excuse to travel to Nashville and sing with the choir in NEXT year's concert! Assuming Tommee gets the 2024 concert plans worked out... {wink/nod to TP} 🙂)

I live in middle TN and am hoping Tommee will bring this group of such talented people together again in 2024 so I can experience it live. Here's hoping!! Thank you for this video that teaches me just why I love this performance so much.

What I love about this version of the song (at least what I get from it) is the traditional carol is sung lovely and it’s about the declaration of the first noel. It’s recounting of the tale. But when it hits the additional chorus added, it becomes a personal declaration and the singer telling you that He (Jesus) has come to save the world, and that’s why I think it hits so powerfully.

I think that last point about being critical of oneself and understanding how the audience just wants to feel something, rings true not just for music, but any industry. I’m in video and constantly have to remind myself of that point. The flaws we all see in our own performances and work, don’t always reflect the audiences reality. Thanks for always reminding us to keep that in mind 😊

Hello! This is the first of your reaction videos that I have ever seen and it gave me something to think about. Usually when I hear a singer hit those high notes I cringe waiting for the voice to break. I think people push their voices to the brink for the praise of the audience. When you were talking about the control that Stanaj had it made me rethink a singers ability to hit the high notes with control and ease. I was hoping you could fit it in you schedule to analyze Kari Jobe singing Hark the Herald Angel Sing, another Tommee Profitt production. Kari is another singer who likes to 'yell' her high notes. It makes my throat tighten when I listen but at the same time I feel a sense of awe. Am I justified in my awe of her abilities or is she one of those singers who is simply yelling her notes? Also, could you give an example of someone using their voice wrong (yelling with no control) so that I know the difference? Thank you and I hope your channel takes off and is a success.

I also had never heard of him till I saw the Birth of a King performance on KZbin last Christmas (2023). Absolutely mind-blowing! I absolutely love Stanaj's vocal performance of Profitt's rendition of "Noel." Truly the best thing I've heard since Handel was doing his thing.
