This was a birthday gift JK did for Jimin. JK arranged the trip and everything even tho he generally doesn’t like traveling according to the members. Jimin didn’t know that JK was making a gcf. Japanese fans are extremely respectful. They’re amazing. Trips like this are not the norm because BTS are usually so busy so this was very special. Please watch Who is BTS: the 7 members of Bangtan. You need to be able to recognize the members’ faces, otherwise understanding the fictional Bangtan Universe storyline is going to be very hard to impossible. Seriously. Plz watch it.

@@lyna2559 The trip was in October, they were there for halloween and Jimin has said on many occasions that he didn't know why Jungkook was filming, he even tweeted about it and said that he would have worn better clothes if he had known. Jungkook did plan and pay for the trip, as he has said in a few Japan interviews. I can't find confirmation on if it was actually Jimin's birthday gift, it might've been but I'm too lazy to search any deeper to find if he has said it was himself.

@@iduli02 Thanks, i was just about to say the same thing. Yes, was in October for Halloween, No, Jimin didn't knew why jk was filming him, but he just flow. And well, a lot of armys (not just shipers lol) thinks that it was for Jimin's birthday just because was in October and they confirmed that Jk did plan and payed for the trip, but no, jk never said all loud that was for Jimin's birthday but just makes sense. Whatever, even if it was not, still a really cute and beautiful thing to do and we should apreciate the effort and obviously love that jk put on this film.

I don't understand why people need to start a whole debate when someone says this was for jimin, it's just a fact, jungkook booked a trip to japan for jimin's birthday, he filmed a video where jimin himself said he was the main model, these are just facts, this doesn't belittle jungkook's talent or his love for filming and editing, he wouldn't continue the other gcfs if he didn't love this, but it's a fact that the first one was for jimin, it was for army too obviously, but jungkook didn't pay a whole trip for army and certainly didn't enjoy his time there for army, everyone denies this so much it's funny at this point :)

So to explain a bit - GCF symbolizes Jungkook. Golden from his nickname “golden maknae”. Maknae in korean means the youngest member of a group, the youngest member in BTS being Jungkook. Golden is used as a slang term in korean for someone who is naturally talented or is good at everything without really trying. golden maknae in Jungkook’s case means the youngest member who is good at everything. Closet because in bts’ dorm his bedroom is technically a closet and it’s where he has a studio to edit videos. To answer your questions about their popularity- Bts are the top boygroup in Korea and considered to be on a whole other level of success that other groups or soloists due to their level of international success. They are an incredibly popular group internationally but especially in the US and Japan. After Korea, the US and Japan are some of the largest groups of Armys. Bts are able to go out in public on their own if they are careful and kind of sneak out. They will pretty much always be recognized but people usually leave them alone or politely interact without freaking out because they don’t want to interrupt their personal time but of course that’s not always the case unfortunately. Jungkook has made 6 total GCFs as of right now. He is self taught and pretty much just makes them in his spare time for fun since he enjoys taking videos. Hope this helped.

BTS is basically huge everywhere in the world. They are very big in Japan and actually do songs in Japanese in addition to making Japanese versions of their bigger Korean songs. The J-ARMY is very respectful. They noticed and knew that it was Jimin and Jungkook, but gave them their space while they were there on their free time.

*You should watch the 'Save Me' music video and then check out them doing the filming for 'Save Me' behind the scenes.* It's a one shot music video, and I think you guys would really enjoy it. An absolute BTS CLASSIC on the album 'Young Forever' which gave them their very first Daesang (major award) and was the first time a non-Big 3 Korean artist won a major award in Korea. It's kind of crazy how many people don't really know about BTS despite them having 3 #1 albums in the US and selling out stadiums (selling out Rosebowl twice the same week Ariana was at Staples arena--no shade to Ariana 'cause she's awesome, just a comparison). It shows you just how much media and major record labels try to control who is visible in the US and how they can try to shape public opinion for profit.

@@kaliyonas5917 he went to both Hawaii and Russia after Paris. Russia was by far the worst - there were at least 40 fans waiting for him at the airport when he landed. It was terrible, he ended up leaving early to go back to Korea. I'm not 100% certain how they knew he was there, but there was a rumour going around for a few days that it was leaked by one of the airline hostesses on his flight who got his autograph and posted a photo of it on Instagram using the plane's WiFi (unconfirmed obviously)

I don't know if you've been told already, but Jungkook actually took Jimin out to Tokyo- it wasn't with all the band members which is why this is a very iconic jikook video; this was a kind of 'treat' to Jimin as he loves sightseeing, and Jungkook took him (: it wasn't in their schedule originally.

What do you mean he took Jimin? This was a vacation they planned together, Jimin has been talking about wanting to go to Japan outside their official schedules for ages. He just wanted to go travel (and he eventually did go to France, Hawaii, Russia with no BTS member, Jungkook included). And in later interviews they clearly said they had no clear plans for their time there, just went with the flow, doing what they felt like when they felt like it. They overslept and then just went around shopping and eating. Where did you get the Jungkook treated Jimin thing? I read all their interviews (even the ones for Japanese media) and there is no such thing mentioned, please don't spread misinformation.

@@areej2445 It's ok, but please be more mindful in the future. Words are powerful tools and they can easily lead to misunderstandings and misinformation. Taking someone on a trip, treating them to a trip implies a non equal relation, an imbalance of power or, at best, someone being in charge and someone else just following the lead. Whereas in this case they clearly said there is no such thing, they went together because they both wanted to go and because the timing was perfect and they enjoyed same things. Also this is not some exclusive gift Jungkook prepared for Jimin, there is a video later on where Jimin is asking Kook to go on another trip and he refuses. And we all know they spent their vacation this year separately, Jimin went with former Wanna One member and other personal friends on similar trips abroad in 3 countries. No one "treated" Jimin to anything, so let's not leave room for interpretations, even if not intended, it is disrespectful to him. He is an independent person and, out of all BTS members, he is the one constantly talking about wanting to go travel by himself because he wasn't able to before, due to their gruesome schedules. He doesn't need someone else to "take" him anywhere, or to "treat" him to anything, he is perfectly capable of travelling by himself (both financially and otherwise). All he needs is time, which sadly is the hardest thing to get when you are a BTS member. Anyway, I am not attacking you or anything, just making things clear for anyone who might read comments and get the wrong impression. Jimin has been getting hate for the stupidest things, so we need to be careful what we write about him and all the other members. Have a good day! :)

No one is hating on Jimin. And if people do hate on him, maybe tell those people off and not someone that was just making a comment. It's not that deep. It was only Jungkook and Jimin who went on this 3-day trip to Tokyo. Jikook went alone when all members had a few days off work. This trip was Jk’s b-day gift for Jm who turned 22 years old. He wasn’t aware of Jk filming this for his first ever G.C.F, so we get to see the real Jm through Jk’s eyes. This video is Jk’s love declaration to Jm. Jk is really the Golden Maknae of BTS. Besides singing, dancing, yes rapping, painting, designing, his brilliance in all kinds of sports, he is even an awesome filmmaker. He had just turned 20 years old and made this G.C.F to Jimin 💜

Their popularity in Japan is crazy... I lived there for a few months and there was NO ONE in my college who wasn’t a fan.. sometimes even my classmates’ moms would be fans. I met old ladies in the countryside who were fans?!! Even when I went to traditional festivals, the prizes you could get from the games/activities were all bts related. At UNIVERSAL, their song plays constantly in the most popular ride... their popularity in japan is insaneeeee

The cool thing about this video is that Jungkook specifically planned and took Jimin to Japan for Jimin birthday. It was a private trip just for the two of them. I really ship them 🤣 they’re so adorable!

They are extremely popular in Japan but Japanese fans are famous for being super respectful of artists personal time and space. They were definitely recognized during this trip especially at Disney world ppl talked about seeing them but they were left alone which is really awesome 💜 What makes this so impressive isn’t that it’s a well edited vlog. It’s bc it’s a VERY well edited vlog buy a guy who is a full time artist and has no background in film other than what he has taught himself or has come to learn through experience by being on and around cameras most of his life. Where does he find the time??

The irony of BTS is that they became famous worldwide before their own home country started taking them seriously. They truly are world wide! Their latest album which released in April (Map of the Soul: Persona) was #1 on iTunes in 91 different countries! That should tell the magnitude of how popular they are. Payton, I love your views and i get to learn/ see things I have not seen before. I have seen that particular G.C.F. like at least 50 times, and seeing your view was great. If you are interested, i would love to see your viewpoints on other G.C.F videos. There are a handful more. I am sure other Armys have already requested a whole ton of videos by now, any stage performances are epic and unlike I see here in the west. Thanks and looking forward!

With Payton's cinematography background, I think you both would enjoy seeing the BTS behind the scenes videos on YT (with English subtitles!) at music videos! Seeing how they do real effects over CGI (such as in Mic Drop and Fake Love) -- it is SO intriguing to me to see them do this, and I would LOVE to hear Payton's perspective on how difficult these shots would be

In their ealier years, they were more famous in the US than in Korea but now they are the most famous in Korea and are their nation's proud. You cant walk in a "shopping street" in Seoul without hearing a BTS song or seeing BTS ad or posters. Or their official marchandise. Most TV programs in Korea mention them at least one time a week even if they don't go on any tv show anymore since years. Their achievements will be on national TV every week as well. But for example in 2013/2014/2015, they were nobody in Korea bc they were from a small company, their sales were ok but nobody would talk about them (in Korea only). In 2014, they went to the US, and J-Hope was surprised to been recognize in the street in the US and not in Korea. In a show called Kcon in the US, (where most Kpop artists perform) in 2014, the public was already crazy for them, 60% of the public was there for them.

BTS wasn't always so huge in Korea but now they are their countries pride. They have gotten the album of the year or artist of the year or both in all 5 big Asian and Korean music award shows and the smaller ones the past 3 years and are on the top of all the Korean pop charts

Bts also has lots of tv shows that they do to get to know them.One of the shows is called bts run and they usually post on Tuesday and it’s so funny.They do different challenges.They also do bts bon voyage which is basically a reality show where they go to different countries.A lot of the full bts run episodes are on youtube with the English subs.They are on ep 90 and they have been doing it sense 2015.Each ep is about 30 minutes.Also Jungkook has done lots of GCF videos so you can also react to the other ones

bts are known worldwide, I’m from saudi arabia and when they came for their concert here the stadium was filled for sure, even our biggest middle eastern artists couldn’t fill a stadium here, also bts’ map of the soul:persona album was the #1 most sold album worldwide of the year 2019
