Yep..I realized it later. First I was like he's doing sargam or what became the way he was improvising felt a bit different than usually what classic singers do. Still I'm disappointed that he sang the original song one octave lower than the studio version :(

6:20 right there he launched into the improv sargam... And it complements the artists playing live so well... That's years of practice and to do it live without a second thought. Look everyone started some day. Arijit has this insane open mind to lift Bollywood song tracks and launch them into space and he gives full artistic freedom to all.. even ordinary songs become legends on the stage. This is unique to Arijit, and trust me there would be at least 500 people in that audience who can sing it live quite well. Arijit lifts it to another level.

Anyone is becoming a vocal coach nowadays with the help of internet and social media. Justin's barely a real professional yet to sing a Indian song. He even has to use autotune like most Western singers. Indian 5 year olds are trained vocally better than him. Western songs are comparatively easy to sing. Even the best Western pros have only the head voice as a weapon. Indian pros can improvise microtunes even in those high notes (Sonu Nigam as one of the examples). P.S.: I don't hate Justin. Just spitting the truth.
