As far as vocal pedagogy is concerned, I would say that Dimash has been through a secret gate that has not been systematized in the West. (There are no schools here that teach what he does in total.) Beyond the voice, he has an advanced grasp of formal theory that singers in particular often skip, but that they need.

​@Chris Mabry Part of actually singing it is having what is beyond the notes. Excellent if you have achieved his range, but that is only part of all that is happening. For example, if you are imitating the ornaments in "Know" you must understand that he drew from a much deeper well than imitation when he came up with them. For example, his mix voice often incorporates elements of Islamic Adhan singing, including the ornaments and the non-western temperaments (maqams and different ways of arranging the space between notes from the western standard equal temperament) It is a vast terrain and much greater set of tools than basic imitation minus 'the knowledge' of these traditional elements can be. Another example: The strange glottal stops in Sinful Passion are a technique very likely part of Central Asian tradition not taught in the West either. Musical tradition in that part of the world has more of a direct, living, unbroken lineage, going back further in time than is typically found in the West. His love for the traditional music of his country is a vast reservoir of inherited musical substance and gesture that will resist and always exceed direct imitation because the imitation cannot have context. These techniques, and undoubtedly others, are not taught generally in music schools in the West. In the East, they are likely rare in formal training as well but live on in tradition. That he had such a privilege to be born into one of the most musical households possible and to have received formal Western training on top of this is a very powerful combination. Finally, you have his hard work and incredible innate ability. I hope this lends insight.

This is an unbelievable performance by Dimash, a masterpiece by Igor Krutoy and Dimash. I can`t think of anybody besides Dimash who is able to sing that song. He is incredible and still developping. His depth has become deeper and richer and he sounds like a bass, and he doesn`t loose his heights. I don`t know how this is possible. But he is practicing a lot and always wants to improve. Сегодня, почти 10 дней спустя после премьеры он смотрит "Stranger". До, во время и после просмотра Джастин сказал: «Мы отправляемся в путешествие вместе. Наденьте наушники прямо сейчас, не слушайте через какой-нибудь телефонный динамик. Красивая мелодия. (на 3:01) Я никогда не слышал, чтобы кто-то использовал дыхание так стилистически, как Димаш. (на 3:26) Этот маленький великолепный слайд (в конце первого куплета) с хорошей задержкой в конце. О, Боже! Я не встану с места, знаю, что мои тапочки вот-вот слетят… (на 3:59) Он демонстрирует все свои разные вокальные регистры, ударяя по ним и делая точные движения рук. Идет на красивый смешанный голос. На финальном вокализе смешанный голос с доминантой головы. (на 9:36) О, мой Бог! Я хочу кричать! Погасите меня на счет «три». Это безумие. Это просто быстрые переходы нот. Их также называют мелизмами. Быстрая смена нот или риффы. Такие легкие и хорошие переходы между регистрами. Люблю всю песню. Мелодия эпичная. Я сначала подумал, что это струнный инструмент звучит. Он застал меня врасплох прямо на начале второго вокализа (из четырех). Каждый его регистр… Парень - легендарный человек. (на 7:25) А затем (после вокализов) он возвращает голос обратно в ту низкую октаву. Удивительно. У меня был студент, которому надо было сделать прыжок ноты на две с половиной октавы в песне. То, что он делал, - ничто по сравнению с тем, что только что сделал Димаш. Это очень сложно сделать. (с 7:41 по 8:23 рассказывает о технике пения) Люблю это вибрато. На финальном вокализе смешанный голос с доминантой головы. (на 9:36) О, мой Бог! Я хочу кричать! Погасите меня на счет «три». Это безумие. Это просто быстрые переходы нот. Их также называют мелизмами. Быстрая смена нот или риффы. Такие легкие и хорошие переходы между регистрами. Люблю всю песню. Мелодия эпичная. Thanks so much - I don't mind admitting, I am OBSESSED with this song!
