Once you dive into Prince live performances you start to realize there's no one like him around and won't be for a long time.

I doubt we'll get anything like him again.

I'm very confident there will be no one even close. Takes alot of talent mixed with work ethic and no one's gonna work like he did. He has enough music in his vault to make a album for the rest of the century. This is his best performance of this song live I've seen.

The command of his range was just UNREAL... on this album, he really laid into his lower baritone range & it was just so incredible to see his versatility, especially being a guy known 4 falsetto.
@margi60353 жыл бұрын
You understand he wrote his music, produced, recorded and arranged his music on his own and often played all instruments on his recording ? He was music and he was a genius.

So sad but so glad I saw him three times . Celtic Park Glasgow Diamonds and Pearls tour. Walking up to the gig his blacked out car passed me. Next I saw him he summer-salted onto the stage did the splits .. dragged his feet together and hit the first note right on cue. Astonishing. 2nd time we were on holiday in New York and he just happened to be playing 3 nights at Madison Square Gdn. Musicology tour. He was so funny, self depreciating .. fell on his backside at one point. Last time at The Hydro arena Glasgow he made that soulless space into a house party 🎈 before he even sang a note. We all knew what was coming. Genius. Can’t believe there are people who could have gone to see him but didn’t go .. and they love his music. You had to see him in the room.

Whether or not you manage to react to any clips from Prince's "Sign O' The Times" concert movie for the channel, you MUST own a copy. It's the single most incredible piece of music/performance captured on film. I cannot stress that enough. Buy it, and spend the rest of your life studying it in depth. It very literally changed my life!

One thing about Prince , I’ve always been the biggest Prince fan and saw him live 6 times in my 63 years, mostly in the 80’s. When he died in 2016, not only did I morn the man and the legend, I also mourned the fact that I would never see him live in concert again… 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🎸🎸🎸🎤🎤🎤💐💐💐

Yup Prince was regarded as one of the best live performers of all time for a reason. It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night from the Sign O The Times movie is great (really anything from that movie), and of course Purple Rain live in Syracuse 1985 is one of the best things I've ever seen

Appreciate the reaction! This performance was from the 1991 Special Olympics, which was in Minneapolis, MN. Right after he concluded this song, he went right into "Baby I'm a Star," so if you want to react to that, it's on KZbin(there's also a great performance he did of the song live in Tokyo in 1990). Another performance you can check out is his performance of "Kiss" and "Cream" on the Arsenio Hall Show in 1991.

I am so glad you went thru your first Prince music experience. I love your attention to detail and comments on his and the entire band performance. Best review I have seen. Suggest watching VEVO original “The Most Beautiful Girl In the World”. A song that is not as complex as the song you just listened; however, its divine simplicity, harmony and voice arrangement have made almost every parent that had a baby girl or a sister, to recall such wonderful memories, like when I had my 2 daughters many years ago, as I sung to them this song, looking at them while on my arms. Beware, you might listen to it for hours to end. If you read the comments by others, you will see what I am talking about. Prince was a musical genius and I am so glad to have grown a par with him and his music. Prince, thanks for the memories. Rest in Peace.

YES, MORE PRINCE !!! So many of his live performances are Legendary! Here's a nice story for ya: did u know Freddie Mercury (of Queen) had a Prince videotape that his friends had to watch regularly when they were around him! Freddie was a great admirer of Prince and rightfully so. Just sharing this because many people don't know this and also because sometimes people compare Freddie live with Prince live, that's all ... imo Prince was and always will be the best live performer of all time. 💜 O(+> 4ever

I think Prince was never fully appreciated as a great vocalist. Maybe because his 'strange' image put a lot of people off? The public tended to stick to 'safer' artists like Madonna & Michael Jackson who did put on great shows, but I still say Prince was the best performer I'll ever see in my life. He could do everything. A genius.
