"She channels this energy and draws it all in", "she can naturally express it with so much intensity on stage". That is a very nice and analytic way to put it. My thought would be that almost all of Diana Ankudinovas's performances are more like a controlled explosion, like the kind used to bring down buildings. Once she slips into the character she is playing, she harnesses that character's feelings, emotions, and energy and holds them. Diana then lights a fuse that is timed to go BOOM at the appropriate time!

The crescendo build from the start of the piano playing to the end is so powerful. I noticed Diana mixes in audio cues when she's about to build up the tempo - there's an electronic "zing" near the end which is a subconscious cue something is building. No words to describe how good Diana is.

One aspect of her dynamics that you haven't touched on yet is what she does during an individual note. Some she starts with a bounce, followed by a drop in volume during the hold and then a slow decay. Others she starts more quietly and builds the volume then finishes with a slightly more percussive cut. And she absolutely does this in service of the rhythm. Amazing understanding of dynamics in an era of hard limiting.

Just for information. This sung was perfomed by two (?) male singers... Then this little girl stepped in and DID IT with such a power that people say : those two tried to sing it, but Diana lived it! This sung is about an adultery .... Diana doesn't have any experience with this part of being an adult, but her pain is assosiated with another type of love- her mother, who never showed her even speck of it...only abuse...for many years... Almighty did his metrical: Diana is alive and she not only can speak, she can SING like no one else can...Oh God, bless this child for the world needs HER!!!

This has always been my favorite performance by Diana I don't understand it but it gets me evertime. I'm an old Army Ranger, yet she can make me disappear Into another world and I choke up. My family cannot get enough of her.
