Different styles for different people I suppose. I do agree though Dounia’s format works very well. What puzzles me greatly is copyright. Reactors struggle greatly with it. Stranger is highly know to get hit with copyright strike by reactors. Seems that frequent breaks reduces risk. So how this one doesn’t get copyrighted is beyond me. In the meantime I got to enjoy the wonderful reaction/analysis. 😊

WHERE DO I BEGIN… Lets start on the vocal capability and range. So Dimash has understood the art of muscle coordination in the phonation area of the voice. He is a Tenor (meaning his voice tends more toward the middle and top of the voice vs the bottom like say a Baritone) so with that explaination he has a natural advantage to sing high and easy up to probably Bb4/C#5 orD8 anything like that, basically opera tenor high notes, meaning he could of just strengthen this area and become a really good opera tenor. NOW this is what makes Dimash fasinating to analyze. He can sing from a strong E2 - C6 in his full voice. Of course the sound coming out is different as he goes higher and higher but not only can he do this but he can sing dynamically in these places. Meaning he has muscle coordination in his lowest notes and highest notes. WHICH IS UNHEARD OF, but more then this, his production of his sounds aka his Dynamics range to the extremes of the human voice. He can sing airy (which is not special) but he knows how to sing so lightly in his phonation he can engage the cords with little to no pressure in anywhere of that range, that is just as light as breathing (which is how one is suppose to sing) now he can go to the extremes in strength all the way to the intensity, size and body of the most iconic Opera singers (saddly most opera singer dont know how to produce freedom in a note that loud so they push and it ruins the sound coming out). NOW LASTLY…. his falsetto! NOW the best part about Dimash is he consistently challenging himself, consistently singing higher, softer, stronger, lower, etc… and what he uses to practice is none other than the art form most complain about being too hard. OPERA. THIS GUY IS what every singer wants in some ways or another.

Thank you for your Reaction on this incredible song. To me it could be a movie soundtrack about a ancient warrior/master who has journeyed into another land. I love this type of music; oriental, exotic, kobyz, etc. I read that he uses underwater techniques for his breath control. All I can think is that he is a freak of nature. lol I loved what you said about the microphone and Dimash have an intimacy. Yes!! BTW, I have commented on other channels the amazing ability Dimash has to hit a note without runs or like you said, the music helping make the transition. I have noticed like in "Ikanaide", that he has no problem hitting a high note and then bam! he hits a mid-tone note. smh truly amazing. You would see some acting in "Be With Me" and "Love Of Tired Swans"

Stranger is an epic song with touches of medieval, Gregorian and even a march together. I love Dimash’s different voice textures specially the Middle East vibes in those riffs and runs 🎤❤️🔝🎼👏👏 Igor Krutoy said “It was Dimash’s talent that inspired me to write this song, his immense vocal abilities and his desire to sing for a large international audience. He sings in Mandarin frequently as well as Russian, Ukrainian, Italian, and even one song in Japanese. So you have one of the best journey's ahead of you. One that will bring you a lot of happiness I assure you. Dimash, Ikanaide, his first Japanese song is just so beautiful, soft, strong, intense, everything and all from him just singing in a studio due to covid restrictions. You will be holding your breath.

He can sing anything, but no one can sing what he sings. For your information, his first album "ID" went platinum in 37 seconds, and he's held sell out concerts across the globe including New York and London. His next concert will be held in Dubai in March hopefully followed by 3 concerts in April in Dusseldorf, Prague and Minsk (Covid allowing) He now sings in 13 different languages and plays 7 different instruments. 2021 vocal range updated (7,2 octaves) (Growls/C1-F#1) (Fry/B1-D2) (Chest Voice/E2-B2) (high chest Voice/E4-D5) (Mixed Voice/E5-C6) (Head voice/C#6-Eb7) (Whistle/E7-D8) You have still so many beautiful Dimash' songs to check. Here is playing the best Kobys player in the world, Dimash’s friend Olzhas Qurmanbeck. This bowl-neck lute played with a bow is is an old Turkic stringed instrument and called Kobys or Kylkobyz in Kazakhstan. The Kyrgyz variant, for example, is called the kyl-kyyak. The Kobys is the oldest string instrument in the world and, according to a German scientist, it spread beyond the borders of the nomadic area of ​​Central Asia and became the mother (prototype) of all European string instruments. Yes, Igor Krutoy (on piano) composed this song just for Dimash. At this same show Dimash sang three very different songs. Igor also composed one of the other two - a new composition of Ave Maria with no lyrics and like nothing you've ever heard before. The other song is Fly Away and is more techno, imo. I think you will enjoy the other two songs also. A couple of my other favorites are Daybreak and Daididau, both from his Bastau concert from 2017. That is a very special concert because it was sponsored by his country because they were so proud of his successes in China on the Singer program. Most attendees were from his country, but there were others from all over the world.... 40,000 people! Your reactions are wonderful and I hope you do lots more of Dimash. I just wanted to add that "Fly Away" & my suggestion "Be With Me" are both absolutely pop songs, and couldn't be more different - but they both really showcase Dimash's big Michael Jackson influence. As Barbara said "Fly Away" is in a more techno style, while "Be With Me" recalls classic MJ, very funky, with amazing Quincy Jones style brass arrangements. Contrasting those 2 songs are a great example of Dimash's versatility - and there are many other "pop" & "serious" songs; all totally different from each other. You've fallen into a huge rabbit hole; you'll never recover, but it's ok, you'll love every second!! 😘

I believe he sings an F in 5 different octaves in this song-F2-F6. We were all stunned at his bass notes in this piece last August (2021). We’ve never heard them THIS low before. He keeps on improving his range, semi-tone by semi-tone. I’m so grateful to be alive to witness this. And yes, that’s Igor on piano. It was written by Igor (the pianist) for Dimash, this was the premier performance. Igor is a famous Russian Composer/Music Mogul worth 13 billion. He came out of retirement in 2018 when he first heard Dimash sing in 2018. Igor has written a few masterpieces for Dimash and Dimash sings many older songs of Igor’s that have been rearranged for Dimash’s range.

You touched on an interesting point at 10:17 about his perfect pitch. Apparently, according to several Dimash Dears, his parents noticed his absolute pitch when he was around age 5 and decided to enroll him in music studies. It was fortuitous that his talent was accurately assessed by his opera singer mother and pop singer father. Also, yes the song was written for him by Igor Krutoy (the pianist in the video).

Your first impression was correct. This was a song written specifically for Dimash for him to premiere at this particular performance at New Wave 2021 and Sochi, Russia. This performance was the first time the public had ever heard this song. There are nine women and nine men backing him up as a chorus. People seem to miss that since the camera only focuses on the women even though you can hear the men's voices on the bottom end of the choral support. You're corrected the last note was 17 seconds but you didn't mention the fact that his last breath included two notes and the breath was 20 seconds.

Check out the totally revised version of Stranger called "Stranger Super Shine Brothers " which was recorded in China. It is completely out of the ordinary how Dimash Qudaibergen manages to convey extremely different emotions by singing almost exactly the same lyrics but using a different dynamic, a different key, a different timbre and different sound production techniques! He begins with the shyness and doubt of a stranger who enters a territory totally foreign to him (when he plays in the piano mode and with sounds surrounded by breath), moves on to the desire to try his strength to achieve a new beginning in life (then when he achieves that magnificent passage through the whole spectrum of his vocal rank using very different techniques of singing on each register) and reaches the end to have the power of the winning hero who not only tried, not only fought but finally defeated (when he shows us the power of his belting and that high and super long note of 20 seconds)! I only scored 3 moments, but they were more because between the choruses there were 2 slightly different moments of storytelling, but both in his register below the bass-baritone and there was another chorus (in total there were 4 choruses and two slightly more parts of the story, all in different dynamics, different keys and very different vocal techniques performed impeccably from a technical point of view, but also with strong emotional effects in the sense of impressive and maximum effect on the audience that practically listened to the whole song almost hypnotized)! For me it was the perfect song of the moment and it was a sublime demonstration of how much Dimash Qudaibergen can still progress even though he is already far beyond his contemporaries ! In this song he covered from C2 to F6 ! This traditional instrument is called Kobyz, it is made of a single piece of wood lined with goatskin, has two strings of horsehair and is an instrument used in ancient times by shamans in their rituals! The composer is Igor Krutoy, but the introduction of this instrument was Dimash's idea and it was seen how important it is in the economy of this song!

I love your choice of words in saying t "Dimash isn't one of a kind, he's just one--there is no kind." I completely agree. You're right about Dimash having absolute pitch. Dimash was tested and found to possess absolute pitch when he was a child. Apparently on his first visit to the music school at age 5, he said that the piano was out of tune, and they were sensitive enough and smart enough to realize that was an indication that he might have absolute pitch. It was his grandmother who insisted that he start music training, though. She has spoken in interviews about how much Dimash was captivated by music as a young child. What a different world we would live in if every child had the opportunity and encouragement Dimash received to pursue their interests and develop their abilities! The man on the piano, Igor Krutoy whos a famous Russian composer composed this for Dimash. He was retired and came out of retirement just to work with Dimash. If you ever watched interviews with Dimash hes very shy and introverted. His mother says she does not know him when he gets on stage. Pls listen to Ikanide. Its new and he sings in Japanese. Truly beautiful! Remember hes been training for 22 yrs. He was put into a music school at age 5 when it was discovered he had perfect pitch. He still trains 3 hrs every day.
