I choose to interpret this performance of Dimash as a call to our own divinity which is pure love. My dearest hope is that this love flows over you and your country, as well as Gaza, Russia and Ukraine and the people caught in the disastrous flooding in North Carolina. There are many versions of Ave Maria but this is completely new, composed especially for Dimash, by the pianist accompanying him on stage. Dimash asked for a new version to be written apparently. Dimash is Muslim and Igor is of Jewish heritage so that is maybe why he didn’t use any Christian words.Incidentally, Dimash can sing kneeling, crouching, bending over and even lying flat on the floor. He is amazing. I am living in the U.K. and relatively safely, of course, , but we obviously worry about the state of the world for the future of the children and listening to Dimash is definitely calming to the soul. Thinking of everyone living in war town countries.

Notice at the beginning when Dimash is getting ready to sing you hear the heartbeat slowing down before stopping then Dimash sings its like the passing of life to be greeted by the angels. To me this is the closest you will get to heaven without going there. Even though this isn't the Catholic Prayer version it still gets the message across beautifully x

Yes, Dimash's voice is perfect. You should listen to a fancam of Dimash vocalizing the Caccini version at a visit to Mumbai India in 2023 where he visited and sang for the office workers of the (I believe) the Indian Rolling Stone magazine. What a treat to hear Dimash up close singing acapella just for you. I believe it's on Facebook. His voice is indeed an instrument and does not really need music as it is pure music itself.

Dimash, playing the part of an Angel. He goes from gentle Angel to Angry Angel, to just sublime Angel with that ending C6 note. This performance never fails to move me. A Christian song, composed by a Jewish man and sung by a Muslim man. He wanted this song to be for everyone in the world. And it doesn’t get much more universal than a song whose title can be translated as ‘Mother, help”. More important Dounia, I’m reading the news, following trusted sources in Gaza and Lebenon. I’m witnessing the atrocities, as Gazans have asked us to do. I cry every day, and I’m safe here in my country. But I am raising noise anyway I know how. Dimash asked Igor Krutoy (Russian composer at piano) to compose this for him. It is a new 'Ave Maria' for Dimash. It is not a version of any other 'Ave Maria', it is new, and is NOT a version or a cover. It stands alone. Dimash channels the angels. He lifts you up and takes you to the clouds and heaven and softly, gently, sets you back down on earth when he is done singing. He changes you and makes you feel blessed.
