Why do people think he just met the people behind him? They are obviously his band since they need to rehearse to play any song.

Of course the ppl in the background are his band...Cld you imagine finding random ppl who sound this good, who also knew his music this well??? Lmao! Also...he's an Irishman, so that's why certain vocals sound as they do. Also....its pronounced HO-ZEE-ER. No disrespect, just some info.

When I do that the placement of the voice goes from the front of my mouth to a spot closer to the nose and the soft palate. It's not as loud, but it's kind of sweeter and definitely sounds different. Might be a style choice because he likes how that note sounds there.

I love singing the amen part because my voice matches and carry’s it out pretty good. My only problem is the take me to church part, when I’m singing I feel like it doesn’t have enough personality and I feel like I’m not singing correctly or opening up enough. It just comes out sounding not as good as the other parts😂

Hey man, there are some nasty G4’s in this chorus, and the whole song stays around a difficult region for most guys, me included. I strongly recommend playing this in Dm, a whole step down from the original, makes life significantly easier. Let me know!
@romicor9
@romicor9 5 жыл бұрын
I assume you're a man... Like the guy above says, don't be hard on yourself. That part of the vocal range can be tricky for a baritone or low tenor until you learn how to use part of your chest voice and part of your head voice to make an even sound. Hozier does change the key in live performances so feel free to do that if you like.
@TheprogresBMX
@TheprogresBMX 5 жыл бұрын
luke by the window my voice is weird because i don’t have as much of a problem hitting higher notes, it’s more of making the lower parts of the song sound more fluid and pleasant to the ear. Whenever I get into chorus it can sometimes sound bland and I always sing a couple ranges higher to make it fit my voice a bit better.
@TheprogresBMX

Romi C I think I’m an alto, my mom used to say I’m a soprano, (she was an Opera singer)but I think over time I just got a little deeper of a voice, so naturally I would almost always sing in my head voice and it wasn’t until I tried hitting lower notes that I realized that even if I hit them it can still sound pretty bland and not as “good” as when I use my head voice. Any suggestions for that?

@hellkat71
@hellkat71 5 жыл бұрын
When it's used as a teaching tool, there's no way around it. It's either pause at relevant parts, talk over the song, or make a lot of work by chopping it up into snippets of "examples" to discuss. I prefer the pausing, as at least we can see things in context (where a song builds, where there's a chorus or verse, where specific parts fall in the totality of a song). When my son was part of a youth orchestra, they would practice only a few bars at a time, and even after that, they'd be stopped for major problems to be corrected. It takes accomplished musicians to be able to do complete run throughs right off the bat, then take accurate notes of where corrections/alterations need to be made...is it still considered disrespectful to stop mid-song in such circumstances as my son's orchestra? Where is the line drawn? People have to learn somehow, and not everyone can afford private voice lessons...especially when some of us just want to sing along to the radio without cringing at the horrible sounds that emerge from our mouths or having their kids tell them to "please don't sing"!! Even you started somewhere, and I'm sure it involved as much stopping and starting as my early music lessons did. We don't dishonour the composers or musicians by stopping and starting their music to analyse it and learn from it. We honour them by choosing them to learn from.
