Lady gaga took musical theater in college so she has always known how to sing like that... however in the beginning she kept that pop vocal vibe and then when she "made it" and was able to do whatever she wanted, you will notice that whenever she was given any genre to sing whether it was the sound of music or singing like the old crooners, like Tony Bennett, a broadway tune or in that clip of her in the black afro.... she could easily do it... she is one of the most vocally adaptable people Ive ever seen.... she has an incredible voice that is virtually flawless.. ive never heard her sing an off note. She is a true icon and vocal goddess!
@yogeshlimbu43496 жыл бұрын

I know that shes said before fame her teachers told her that her voice was too theater to become a pop star. I think being told that may have contributed to her kind of distorting her voice to try and fit that mold, but as shes become more famous shes letting that go and showing what she truly has. I didn't like her until I heard her sing Paparazzi live during the VMAs and I fell in love with her because I realized how amazing she actually is.

@Marcusrafaelfet6 жыл бұрын
Being clasically trained doesn't mean she always had perfect technique, also it doesn't explain changing styles, classical singing is 1 style, yes she do play a lot with the textures of her voice but it isn't just that, there is no doubt she did improve a lot since she started off, her technique overall sounds healthier now.
@connorcaughlin42756 жыл бұрын
I should've said vocally trained. But it stands. I was just saying because, and sorry- it has been two months since I've seen this video, but he was talking about how it sounded like she was getting training or whatever. She did get lessons in the Music Theatre style at one point. Michael Lavine was her vocal coach and he has coached the likes of Kristin Chenoweth, Sutton Foster and more... I only know this because I had a few lessons with him this year and he was talking about when he used to coach her. So she does still get lessons and training. Lady Gaga in between her Born This Way album and her Artpop album released an album with Tony Bennet and she even went on tour with him. This is where she developed her newer style of singing, after all the hard work she put into working with Tony Bennet whom she credits for helping her change and improve her voice drastically. I think she sounds worlds apart from her debut album to what she can do now. I like her newer style of singing where she can confidently back up a musical theater belt or can really grind it up and have that distortion.

Lady Gaga started to put a lot more focus on the lower register of her mezzo-soprano roughly in 2011 - which suits her much better than her earlier (acoustic) work because she is a very low mezzo-soprano, bordering on a very high alto in general.
@elianadiaz74355 жыл бұрын
Nr4747 yes, she definitely has a high alto to low mezzo voice.
@varunravi272 жыл бұрын
That's not true at all lol. Lady Gaga is nowhere near being a contralto (not even a low mezzo-soprano). Miley Cyrus and Anastacia are lower mezzo-sopranos. Lady Gaga's tessitura is so unimaginably high compared to that of other mezzo-sopranos (most mezzos have to use a heady mix above Eb5 but only occasionally has Gaga had to use a heady mix on E5s and F5s). Gaga's low notes, despite being amazing in their own right, are not that good compared to other mezzos like Miley, JoJo and Beyoncé (the same can be said for someone like Adele).
@ZBGregory6 жыл бұрын
Knowing some background of her would help him. She went through the heavily artistic phase and went on hiatus. She started post videos of her doing long breathing exercises and phonating exercises. She made finding the buzz in each vowel, muscle memory. She did just meditative breathing techniques to find more efficient breathing. If you watch the videos you might think they are just like meditative excersizes, but she's building up her diaphramatic muscles, finding the shapes in her larynx and esophagus and shaping her pallate and using that to produce more resonance in her face. She built up all those muscles around her diaphram and in her core and she makes an effort to always use them when singing. Even when she dances or rolls around, she will find her alignment in her torso and energize all those muscles as soon as she sings. She studied for a bit with a classical instructor for the "Sound of Music Medley' and I feel like she incorporates a bit of that technique in producing a natural vibrado and I see it a lot in her later works. Her resonance and breathing technique are the most noticeable improvements to me. All of these techniques she picked up will help her longevity. She even growls healthier now.

Since she alledgedly has Fibromyalgia now and therefore ist in constant pain, do you think that this might have influenced her ability to sing? Bc for me, its harder to really breathe and sing with strength due to my pain and constant nausea. Would love to know. Great video

Fibro can have different symptoms in different people. Even though she experiences lots of back pain it seems like it affects her dancing more than her singing if you watch her documentary.
@signecrawford26 жыл бұрын
Fibromyalgia also causes extreme fatigue and lack of energy physically plus has negative effects on a person's mentality and emotions. No doubt this affects her voice and performing abilities in all different aspects. She's amazing though and I hope she's able to feel better most of the time.

She had to cancel the last few tour date shows due to how much pain she was in. It definitley hasnt affected her voice but her live performances definitly leave her more out of breath and more tired and in pain. Sometimes you can tell. Obviously with how tempromental fibro is.

Elizabeth Wildman Her doctors might be wrong. After all, science has not yet figured out exactly what causes fibromyalgia, or if there is more than on illness with those same symptoms.

That Bang Bang cover was absolutely fantastic! Should have included performances from her newest album, Joanne and her Million Reasons performance from the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

Lady Gaga is a chameleon. She can change her style to suit whatever artistic purpose she chooses. She's classically trained and was told her voice wouldn't translate into pop music. She's that awesome.

She released a jazz album with Tony Bennett in 2014, you should listen to it.

I feel Gaga about the voice lightening. The older I get, the lighter my singing voice has become. I started singing with a very dark, rich voice. I miss it but what can you do?!

Found your channel today through one of your reaction videos about James Charles. Immediently subbed for your positive vibes and energy. Then i heard one of your covers and I was like wow! I've been binge watching your videos since.

i'm binge watching your videos LOL. Gaga is actually incredible when she sings like the first clip. I prefer her when she sings like that it is almost like she was meant to use her voice like that. She has been doing it more recently and i'm living for it.
