Ralf Scheepers is the reason the expression "beast mode" was created. Before that, there was nothing in any language, ancient or modern, that came close to describing his performance. Even "beast mode" is insufficient, of course, so long-time fans typically just reverently whisper "Ralf Scheepers" and nod knowingly at each other, and what is communicated transcends mortal words through a pure, soul-to-soul, spiritual connection. Try it. "Ralf Scheepers" See?

I think it's 'Ralf'. Cool choice. Would love to see a King Diamond or a Rob Halford episode. P.S Why aren't these guys bigger? Primal Fear have been around for a solid 20 years now but power metal is a bit too European to break through. Power metal is small in places like the USA or Australia but still quite big in Germany (where they're from) the surrounding countries and Japan.

Just a friendly note, his name is spelled Ralf, not Ralph. I was lucky enough to see Primal Fear in FL. I waited about 6-7 years for them to tour the U.S. And I was not disappointed, the show was amazing. And they're all humble people. I was able to meet and greet with them for free behind the venue and get my CDs signed. I asked Ralf how he's able to sing like that night after night, does he gargle vinegar or something? He jokingly replied that he gargles his own piss. Lol!

Love the song choice actually! Sometimes picking out the best of the best is good but sometimes taking a smaller gem shows consistency of a vocalist's voice from song to song and getting a good look at their roots. I was very impressed with the voice as well, it's hard to find healthy voices in the metal genre.

Ralf Scheepers is a Beast. He was the original vocalist for Gamma Ray in the early 90s. But when there was a vocalist opening in Judas Priest when Rob Halford left in like 92? He auditioned, but didn't get the gig. So what did he do? He formed his own band, Primal Fear, to play Judas Priest-like music. PF's first few albums could have easily been Judas Priest albums, they sounded so similar. Both in instrumentation and vocal style.

Delay definitely is like an echo, used for many great things. And you got the core of reverb just fine. It has to do with the type/size of room and materials with how it bounces. But I think the best way to describe it musically is also how it elongates the tail of your notes. Maybe interesting for a future video; King Diamond - Sleepless Nights Specifically, that album was rather well known for... probably best to call it as it is; Abusing the reverb. Although credit where credit is due, this guy sings in a very high/Falsetto(?) voice, and it really adds to the Halloweeny/horror vibe that its theatrical themes would suggest. So it's very fitting. Ps, I am just loving your videos. I came across your channel recently and it's fun to see someone reach so far out of their comfort zone in music and treat it with so much respect and intrigue. I'd love to get some vocal training from you perhaps someday. Keep up the wonderful work o/
