Hey Ken! Thanks so much for reacting to the video! Glad you liked it! If you (or your audience) want to hear something a bit more live, we're doing a "Fang Sings the Classics" livestream on 1/31 at 1pm Central on our channel, and this duet will be a part of it! Also - you're correct, there was a bit of "overacting" re: tongue & mouth positions on the video ;)

In an interview in Charismatic Voice chanel she said she singed Alto in a choir before goin into the metal band. She begun singing in choir as a five year old.. She traveled the world singing Alto in the juno awarded choir The Uvic Chamber Singers... She studied at the UVic School Of Music. , Acording to Wikipedia She has a range from C#3 (which is the C# an octave below middle C) to D6 (which is the D two octaves above middle C). About genre.. Like both Brittney and Floor studied music for several years. So offcourse they have sung different types of music. In Floor Jansens case she has studied opera and also plays flute piano and guitar. She is a soprano with a range of more than three octaves (D3 to F6. Among of her musical educations is Conservatorium Tilburg. So Many of the best metal singers has an awsome background in studying music

What I find funny about this is that Brittney and the male singer have both been drinking, lol. Hearing this, Ken should react to Brittney doing karaoke after a full set in Scotland, when she sang Queen of the Reich. She was drinking in that video as well. It was because of that karaoke video that Arjen Lucassen got her to sing Fate of Man on Star-One (2022), as well as Unleash the Archers releasing a cover of Queen of the Reich.
@glennmorganfan94113 жыл бұрын
Some people don't know this, but BOTH of them are actually classically trained singers. Miss Britney said if she hadn't discovered Metal that she would have gone into Opera singing. Miss Britney has a three octave range and she makes GOOD use of it.

Opera/classical music and metal are really close if you take a close look at the music theory and techniques used. A lot of the times the only difference is distortion and electricity.

Which might explain why symphonic metal and rock/metal opera work so well!

Definitely. If any of the classical composers has access to electric instruments a lot of their work would likely be heavy af. There are a few pieces that are incredibly heavy for the era. In conclusion, musicians in any era like making a big sound.

For a great example of metal opera you should check out Ayreon, a music project masterminded by Arjen Lucassen. Each album is a concept album and he gets lots of talented singers to play characters in the stories. A good starting point would be "The Day That The World Breaks Down" or one of their live performances.

I've been following you for a bit but have yet to put in a request since I pay attention to the instruments more than the vocals when listening to music..... BUT, I noticed you haven't reacted to Teddy Swims yet, and it's blasphemous lol. The typical reaction video for him is his cover of "I Can't Make You Love Me" and I can say with 100% certainty you'd love it since you really can't go wrong with Teddy. That said, I would REALLY love to see a reaction to one of his live versions since it's more stripped down. Personally I think his cover of Valerie by Amy Winehouse is the most raw since it's just him, the guitarist, the mic, and one take. Sounds like very little post was done, if any. Again though, you can't really go wrong with any of Teddy's work. Here is the Valerie link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpq8pp2wgdGto8U
