That seems to be around the same time I did too. I think Amaranthe's song "Hunger" had just come out? Pretty sure it was 2010, give or take a year or two!

11:30 just a little, Nils joined in 2018! He's also a member of Dynazty, and you can listen to more of his vocals in their songs as he is the lead vocalist ☺️ edit: this made me laugh so much and I completely agree with your praises; Crystalline gets me every time. Elize and Nils work so well together ^-^

Love Amaranthe and this song even if it's not typical for their sound. They are a local band, always a little strange when you run into one of your favorite artists in the grocery store :). Another little trivia about Elize is that she was close to becoming the singer in Nightwish when Tarja left, but they went with Anette due to the fact that Elize was very young at the time. Later on, when Kamelot was opening for Nightwish, during the time Elize (and Alissa from Arch Enemy) was with them Anette got ill when Kamelot was on stage and Elize and Alissa had to go up and sing Nightwish songs with literally no preparation to prevent the cancellation of the show.

Oh gosh, That's really interesting stuff to know! Honestly I am kinda glad she didn't get that part in Nightwish because while I love nightwish, I also adore the Amaranthe stuff. I'm sure she would have done an absolutely insane job but I'm definitely glad this stuff was given more of a chance to exist from that decision!

@@grieverproductions2022 yeah, I was never a fan of Anette in Nightwish, but the way things turned out we got Floor in Nightwish (she joined them right after the incident i mentioned, i think Anette only did one more show) and Amaranthe.

Amaranthe is just sublime! For some other Swedish vocalists who are unfairly good; Tommy Johansson! Front figure of Majestica but mainly lead guitarist of Sabaton. Been doing a lot of covers on KZbin lately! Probably among the best male vocalists in the WORLD right now! Sabaton! Historical metal. Just dive in and enjoy! Machinae Supremacy; very unique sound! That's all I'll say on it ;)

Some song recommendations to start with; For Tommy; His rendition of Phantom of the Opera For Sabaton (their drummer is btw married to Floor Jansen): Christmas Truce music video for one of the best music videos of all time, and some end credits vocals by Floor Jansen, 41:1 from 2013 Woodstock festival in Poland or En Livstid i Krig from Gothenburg and The Great Tour (don't forget subtitles) for some incredible crowd interactions. Or go with Ballad of the Bull or Cliffs of Gallipoli for some Australian focused lyrics (pretty sure there is some great lyric videos available) For MaSu; We are the ones who will change the world, Pendulum or Empire of Steel for their 3 latest singles Enjoy!

I always got shivers and goosebumps while listening to Elize‘s voice. That is her strength. And Nils Molin replaced Jake as the male singer in 2017

I always find it interesting how different people label a genre of music. Amaranthe is not heavy metal even at their absolute heaviest I wouldn’t call them heavy metal. Hard rock perhaps but anyway she is a fantastic singer I agree and of course her beauty is ridiculous as well. Great band I’ve listened to them for about six years now I think.

Yeah i get what you're saying. I use the term pretty loosely especially for where I live. Here in Australia where I am, they would think of it more as a Heavy Metal style so I kind of just follow that line of speech :)

You obviously love Elize Ryd as I do. You also love combined vocals, and I highly recommend Amaranthe - Strong! It leaves out both male vocals but brings in Noora Louhimo from Battle Beast, another vocalist you absolutely have to hear.

@@grieverproductions2022 If you want another fun band with multiple vocalists, I would recommend the Italian symphonic/power metal band Temperance to you. The have 3 singers in the band and it's pretty impressive.

Hi Jim, greetings from the Netherlands. I enjoyed watching your reaction. You mentioned Nightwish. Would you consider doing a reaction to them? I'd love to hear your opinion. The Dutch singer of this Finnish band is Floor Jansen. She's a vocal coach herself and has one of the best female voices in metal today. She's a master at conveying emotion through a song and her stage presence is unmistakable. 'Ghost Love Score', live at Wacken 2013 (kzbin.info/www/bejne/amjIkGxsZrSEjac) showcases her abilities wonderfully, but if you want to listen to something more recent, pick a song from the Hellfest 2022 show (kzbin.info/www/bejne/poqsiWSArsdpaqc). 'Shoemaker' at 50:15 would be a good choice. Take care!

Hey Martine, yes of course I would be more than happy to react to them, however at the current time there's not a lot that I haven't heard from them. Once they bring out their next album or single or whatever they release next, I will 100% do that. I LOVE that performance of Ghost Love Score. It truly is just a masterclass!

@@grieverproductions2022 They're awesome. The wait for a next album is going to be long though. They'll start rehearsing and recording it when they're at their summercamp in July/August next year. It will probably be released in 2024. Maybe you could consider doing a review of one of their performances. Giving your opinion, explaining and commenting on the vocals. It will for sure draw in the Nightwish fans. 😁
