I always found it amusingly ironic in this duet that Lea/Rachel sang Maureen's part of the Duet, and the OBC Maureen was Indina Menzel, who played Rachel's mom in Glee. And fwiw it worth I've always loved the way Lea and Amber's voices blend.

Mercedes and Rachel have the strongest voices in Glee club, and this is definitely one of my favorite songs they’ve ever performed!! I appreciate both of their voices, they’re sooo different and these two ladies are super talented!!😊💖👏🏻👏🏻

I wish they had been able to sing the song in the original form (aka two lesbians arguing). By doing a sanitized version which mostly is Maureen's part from the original script it doesn't allow the contrast in the styles to really shine. It's really deliberate in the original, showing the girlishness of Maureen compared to the maturity of Joanne.

I genuinely do prefer Lea‘s voice but I think they were evenly matched in terms of skill every time they competed or performed against each other. although the second time they did defying gravity it was underwhelming all around. my favorite character is Mike Chang and Sam Evans. unproblematic kings except for the whole body issues thing with Sam.
