Love Einar and love this band! They’re one of the few bands that give me goosebumps. Loved the reaction!
@nostalcholy4 жыл бұрын
I discovered them last year and I have already seen them perform live three times by now. Einar is why I started taking vocals lessons and I'm now working on Below. Those high notes are within my range apparently but to pull them off properly, not beginner stuff for sure. Leprous is probably my second favorite band ever behind Opeth.

My experience with this band: 1st listen - "WTF is this?? Nah." 2nd listen - "IDK, something about this, IDK, I kinda like?" 3rd listen - "Ok, I'm hooked! I LOVE these guys!" I cannot stop listening to them. Such a great change to the metal I normally listen to.

I'm soooo happy you liked this one too! Thank you for reacting to Leprous again! ❤ Einar has one of my favourite voices (if not my favourite) of all time as well, and considering he is doing all that while still playing the keys for the band is super impressive. The guitar player doing the harmonies is called Tor and yes, their voices match super well! I guess the entire band does back vocals minus the drummer. You know I will continue asking for some of their stuff, but in the meantime if you like them so much, please do check their music! 😊 thanks again, Sam! You're the best ❤

You have any links to great live performances? Those two songs sound amazing on the album, goosebumps stuff, but he sounds like he overextends himself. There isn't as much power in his chest voice live when he's at the limit of his range

I listen to this song at least twice a day, it's my all-time favorite song from my all-time favorite album by my all-time favorite band. I cannot explain how much their lyirics means to me and how much they've helped me through the hardest times of my life. So glad to find other people as baffled by their talent as I am.

One of my favorite bands and they sound awesome live. I was lucky to see them their first US tour and other tours since. Einar does have a very distinct voice that fits the music so well. For another prog metal band with a great singer you should do Caligula's Horse from Australia.

Awesome reaction and breakdown, we have both the technical analysis of the singing, but also genuine moments of you being amazed and just wanting to enjoy rather than commenting. This is not my favourite song of Leprous, but this live version really brings the song to a new level and this is definitely one of the strongest performance on this live DVD, absolutely beautiful!

I don’t know Leprous that much but I’m happy this song was recommended - at first, when I listened to it (via, shameless ad on, Discord Patreon songs list), I was astonished by the way they managed to combine his specific manner with this... groovy rhythm. I’m still on the verge of confusion but thanks for dissecting it!

Holy, my favourite live leprous song. Thanks for taking a chance on not as popular songs/bands/videos. Excited to see what you think
@TeaOnTue3 жыл бұрын
Yes they are seriously metal. These songs roaming around on here are their softest sounds out of their music. And I personally love them all because they are so different. BUT, for the love of fried chicken, they are, especially Einar is, criminally melodic. Melody flows out of him. You can probably find him at any time of the day just humming a melody, he's so musical.

I would like to suggest some reactions. From Tarja Turunen's solo career, please, react to "underneath", the studio version (it's one of the most beautiful rock synphonic ballads I've ever heard), and "Supremacy", live version recorded in Milan (it's really amazing). From Nightwith with Tarja, the music video of "Bless the child" is wonderful. It deserves a reaction too. Thank you very much!

I agree with you . As an amateur power metal singer . Falcetto and head voice is totally different . With head voice you keep a good mix and some "weight" coming from the chest . Falcetto is more light and thin sounding.It s the way to make good transitions.

Request pls: Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa live in Amsterdam “ I rather go blind “ . Sam you’ll love it unlike her other song you reacted to 1 month ago. I wish I could become a patreon but we can’t send money out of Iran, sanctions you know? And no services like paypal and no credit cards either, everything cash here. Sorry I would send some without asking anything in return because you are so cool.

I very much enjoyed your technical analysis of this song. Especially the bit where you explained where the seemingly easy 'ah-ha' part is much more difficult to sing than we'd think at a first listen. If you enjoyed this, you might also be interested in listening to this beautiful piece of music by Raphael Weinroth-Browne. He's a Canadian cellist who's toured with Leprous several times. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pHPQk2hngp1gnsU (This is not a reaction request, BTW. There's no vocals in it. Just thought it might be the kind of music you enjoy.)
