Simon actually picked beauty and the beast, for Marcelito to sing. Plus, Marcelito got the the most votes and should’ve won but they only count the votes from the “super fans”. It appears that AGT is all politics and they only care about the ratings.

Nina, I don't know if you heard Marcelito's interview after the contest that he did not choose that song. It was Simon's Cowell team who gave him a list to choose of what he should sing. Hence from the list he choose THE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. But when he was asked after, he said he would have not chosen that song for the FINALS, but he didnot have any choice. Then Simon who said that, that song is PREDICTABLE, that if he was Marcelito, he would have chosen something else. His musical team under Simon's order was to give him the list that he wants. And that was what Marcelito chose. Simon is really very BIAS against Filipinos. Watching from Illinois USA 07-18-2021...early morning here.

There was a huge controversy over song choices being dictated, etc. on this show. Go to the reaction channel "React To The World" where they actually prove that among other regularities, Simon's comments here (about having a big career), were actually copied and inserted into the broadcast of the previous show. There is also the video Marcelito put out about not having song choice, which goes against what Simon was saying.
