That's the singing style of Morisette. The squeaks that you mentioned are really transitions and part of her signature. The fact that she's singing this song seated is just out of this world. I'm not a singer myself. But I appreciate and know when I hear a splendid voice no matter the language used. By the way her last name is pronounced like the "A" in mama. So based on that comment i guess you haven't seen it. Overall she hit higher notes, much better build up to the climax and added more vocal dynamics in that one..

You don't have to know the lyrics of songs to be able to spot real greatness. Many didn't even applaud afterwards to one of the best performances of the decade.. The truth is that the event was filled with wealthy buissness people who use this event much like a golf course. To make connections, promote themselves, and close deals.. The people lacked passion for all performers, and dare i say: music in general.
