Six had never been on Broadway, it started in small shows in England (where it was created by 2 college students) before getting on the stage at West End and it expanded there, it went to Australia before coming to the states if I'm not mistaken where it started in Chicago. It was supposed to have it's Broadway debut last year but the virus happened and Broadway closed it's doors

It had some previews on Broadway before the shut down. Actually fun fact well not really fun but they were originally set to open on the night when Broadway shut down

I’m pretty sure she just used “broadway” as a general term for a large theatre performance. Since broadway is just what she is more used to. So yeah, she used the incorrect word, technically, but she just meant that the song is different on the album compared to how it is performed on stage, in general.

You aren't wrong that it is more subdued than live where you are almost happy crying by the end. The next song, okay, there is a rehearsal version of it with the original west end cast that is awesome and you can review legally (I think). The album cast did a few performances live in late 2017/early 2018 before they recorded this and the end was very "powerful" then too. I think they changed a lot of things for the album including merging I Don't Need Your Love and the Remix into one
