Words by Cher : That's one of the greatest vocal performances of any song by anybody,” Cher told The Guardian.

Cher was being inducted into The Kennedy Center Honors. The Honors recipients are recognized for their lifetime contributions to American culture through the performing arts-whether in music, dance, theater, opera, motion pictures, or television. They induct 5 each year. He was asked to honor her by signing this song. Adam came in 2nd place on American Idol. Been with Queen since 2011 as well as a solo career. Can't believe he's 42 years old.

There's nothing like being at an Adam Lambert show. He doesn't play in large arenas usually on his solo tours. His voice is so powerful it vibrates thru you. You hear a lot of wows during his shows. It's a risk o take such an iconic song and then just totally change the vibe, but when I heard this the first time I felt like I finally understood the soul of the song: "I have enough self-respect now to see I deserve better than a life with you. I am strong and I am going forward to a better life." When you're out with your friends getting over that loser, the Cher version would be preferred; but at home you can belt this one out to remind yourself it's gonna be okay,.

How sad for your generation that you have to be excited by a performer NOT faking it. I saw Queen five times between 1977 and 1982, and when you're in the room with greatness, you know it. I'm delighted to see a fellow headbanger who can appreciate talent in ALL its forms. I'll be 60 this year, young man, so, you've got a lot to look forward to. I look forward to more of your work. During a recent interview, highlighting the 25th anniversary of Believe, Cher looked back on that performance of Adam Lambert's cover of "Believe" and what it meant ot her. Cher told The Guardian, "That's one of he greatest vocal performances of any song by anybody." Don't be surprised to see musical theatre casts in the audience, one of Adam's best friends is in the cast of Hamilton and Adam himself, was the understudy for Fiyero for approximately 2 years in LA before he auditioned for AI. He was in the Children's Metropolitan Theatre company, from about the time he was 8 so musical theatre has been part of his life for almost forever.

Your reactions are really FUN and sincere! He was famous for song rearrangements like this during Idol. I think only ONCEI can remember he got thrown off with the earpiece and band. During the disasterous AMAs when Monte Pittman was playing out of tune. Other than that, Adam Lambert is the only one who just tosses the ear monitors and can keep singing on key but of course it takes the band to not screw up and follow HIM. And that includes GAGA, RiRI and of course Taylor and I'm not sure about Kelly but they all screwed up at these big shows because the SOUND CHECKS are generic for too many people and the sound techs can never get the levels right for his voice. Queen does ALL THEIR OWN so all during a show he communicates back and forth with Spike Edney and the sound engineer. You can see the signals if you look. They always have the best equipment and sound engineers who, in fact saved their asses at Live Aid since the sound was so screwed up there.

That being said, my all time favorite singer was Freddie Mercury and I was thrilled when Adam joined with Queen, he's now been singing with them for over 10 years. One of the best performances with this collaboration, in my opinion, is "Who Wants To Live Forever" at the Isle of Wight festival in 2016, shortly after the massacre in the Florida nightclub. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3SZdYN-pNiNkMk
