I understand not being a fan of the production (autotune) on the all English songs, but you HAVE to check out the live performances. Highly recommend checking the BBC One Live Lounge. They played with a live band and (if I’m not mistaken) no backing track. They also covered I’ll Be Missing You and it’s *chef’s kiss*

Acknowledging that autotune can be a stylistic choice, I fully agree that it has been overdone the past few years (Not Today was the first time I noticed it), and sometimes I can live with it but sometimes I really hate it. They have beautiful natural voices so it irks me when they completely cover then up. For example, in Permission to Dance Suga's part is entirely autotune and it made me so mad but then also sad as I started wondering if Suga is uncomfortable with his singing voice. But in the live performance the autotune isn't there and his voice sounds wonderful proving the autotune really wasn't needed in the first place. It's usually limited or nonexistent in the lives so that is a good way to go hear their voices as they should be.

I recently made a list of my top 25 favorite BTS songs, and most of their most heavily promoted songs did not make the list. yeah, they sing great live, that's why i think tristan is pointing more at the productors for the autotune on their last songs, not at bts themselves. i personally don't like it either... this is happening since ON i think, at least with their title songs. the live version is much more enjoyable to me at least. i wish they could upload an album with some of their best live stages on spotify ;(

I think their most recent poppy English singles were produced by someone else. When they do albums n stuff they're normally really involved w the producing. If you check out their Japanese singles and their most recent album, BE, you'll definitely find diff production-probably more in ur style.

I’ll be honest, I’m not a Kpop follower but have a few songs on my playlist. But I’ve been a Coldplay fan for as long as I can remember. I just love that the lyrics to their music are so meaningful, and Chris’s voice is just so soothing. They’re both global icons so it makes sense to collab. I went to Coldplay’s last world tour and the best concert I went to, hands down. The man sang Magic while laying down on the floor. Like how?! And it just feels like you’re in the happiest place on the planet when you’re there. I feel like I’m traveling to some other planet. So the fact their album is universe themed, fantastic. What’s with the planet stuff lately though? Ariana kind of did a thing with that, Doja with Planet Her? lol Coldplay started off as alternative and rock bestie lol But they have done so much better with maintaining their “original” sound compared to other bands (cough cough Maroon 5), while still experimenting. @@adorabletrap721 Well Dynamite is by far the biggest example but some that are a little less severe but still very prominent are Black Swan, On, Outro: Tear, and also Telepathy. These are just a couple examples but I think they are really good for highlighting my point here. When I show people these songs, I almost exclusively use live performances because that really shows off their vocals. In the studio versions of these songs, I find that they are less enjoyable due to the tuning on their vocals. Like literally listen to the Black Swan studio version then a live one right after and you can see how much better the live vocals are. I am saying this as a huge bts fan btw. I love almost everything they release and the songs I mentioned are some of my favorites even, just wish they went a little less heavy on the tuning so I could hear their amazing voices.

clearly, all their old albums do not have the autotune slathered on. The only song where I actually like the autotune is black swan cause it fits the trap style. I think what made this song so good and also imo the best BTS collab is the fact that Chris Martin flew to Korea to work on the song with BTS unlike other ppl bts collabed with. He took the time to get to know them and he showed his respect in many ways. I think u can truly feel the genuity behind that song and that's what makes it so amazing for me. Not to mention I agree it was good to hear something different after all the auto-tuned english tracks BTS put out

i agree with what you said abt the production, i dont understand why the producers autotune the songs sm when they clearly dont need it.. maybe its some kind of style or a trend in korea but i personally hate it. havent been liking their title tracks bc of it but their b-sides and live vocals are still amazing! great video :)

the producers behind the newer tracks are not korean, but american. so it's prob not bc of that.

@@jonamaote5777 the gag is when bts sing dynamite live it’s so much more enjoyable bc the autotune isn’t turned up x1000 like omg. The autotune is what kills me esp on jungkooks voice. They do not need that! Literally watch film out on music blood and they sound soooo nice!! It’s totally a stylistic choice by the American producers. I thought Americans didn’t like the autotune sound? So I’m confused....

You really need to check their b sides. The only songs were Autotun being used a lot are dynamite and permission to dance. Life goes on and the whole album BE was without it. Listen to blue and grey pls!!

Definitely agree with you on their stylistic choices on vocal production lately since Map Of the Soul album. It's either their voices are so far back or autotuned. Their BE album was a good in not over producing though.
