You should react to Dimash's IKANAIDE from 20th Tokyo Jazz Festival 2021. It's absolutely emotional and beautiful. The lyricist for this song Goro Matsui said in his Twitter post .....he has listened to many foreign singers singing this song both in Japanese and foreign languages......he said this is the first time he heard this song sung so beautifully in Japanese by a foreign singer and he expressed his wish that someday he and Dimash can collaborate together on some other songs.

IMHO, it's the best version overall. However, I still really enjoy the first version where he was performing in the Chinese talent show, "The Singer" (2017.) Watching the reactions of the audience, and of the other performers/contestants, is just too fun.

She hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan. She became famous in China. However, once the war was over and she revealed her identity, she was accused of being a spy and she was deported back to Japan and didn't go back to China for many years, as it was forbidden at that time. Ms Yamaguchi did return to China in her later years as the Japanese Parliamentary Vice Minister of Environment. This song is saying goodbye to her Chinese name Li Xianglan.
