This is a great cover by Disturbed. But you need to check out the official video to get the great visuals, which add more meaning to this song. David Draiman, lead singer, was trained as a Cantor, as most of his family. But he changed courses and went into the Metal Band genre.

Best description of this performance I've heard is that the Simon and Garfunkel version is God warning humanity of the dangers of technology and Disturbed version is a pissed off God that we ignored the warning.

@ David Bird I honestly do not know if Paul Simon wrote the song intending that it seem a warning from god and he may have but I always just interpreted it as Paul Simon issuing a warning based on what he was seeing happen and what he imagined would happen if in person communication between people continued to decline which it has exponentially since the song was written with addition of internet, social media, and cell phones. I don't think anyone in 1963 or 64 whenever it was written would believe it if it was described to them back then. And with the further rapid decline in personal communication Disturbed turned the song into the "you better listen and correct because you ignored the warning long ago" version but nowhere in the entire song did any god come to mind. But I guess everyone has their own interpretation
