My favorite parts of all reactions to this song are A. the part where they start tripping over their words because they're so excited, and B. The point where the sit and stare open mouthed, so entranced that they even forget to react 😂

Such a powerful version of this song deserves to be experienced emotionally, not paused and discussed. Stops in the song kill the dramaturgy of the song. Too bad. Good reactors discuss the song at the end and don't stop it. Sorry

Great reaction! David had the flu when he did this, that's why he was sitting on a stool. Trained as a Cantor like his father and grandfather. Paul Simon liked it so much that he linked to it on his social media. (The only version, out of all the other covers that people have done.)

Copy and paste rubbish yet again when will it ever end. He was feeling under the weather, as he has stated many many many times he had the sniffles that is all, influenza aka the flu is a killer and leaves you totally bed bound and not able to do the simplest of things let alone get dressed travel to a studio and perform live. People love this performance and rightly so but some feel the need to try and make it better than it was by throwing the flu tag around. Stop believing what the internet says, and posting rubbish.

Stunned is an understatement. Somehow I missed this jewel when it was first performed by Disturbed. I went from classic rock music to alternative 30 years ago, for the new, fresh feel that it had. I have been a fan of Disturbed since The Sickness was debuted. I am a child of the 60s, and this song is one of my favorites from that era. You have to have a set of major cojones to even attempt covering a classic of this stature. After watching it a dozen or so times, with my jaw in the floor, I started looking the reactions of vocal coaches and other 'unwary" listeners. To my great pleasure, I realized that everyone has near the same "Stupefied" 🤘reaction that I did. Who knew? David has control, power, and range that stands head and shoulders above any other vocalist today. Disturbed has made my band 😎bucket list now...

Ms. Glatzhofer, your analysis is excellent. I am old enough to remember the original played on the wireless, but young enough at heart to appreciate the interpretation of time. The power of the human voice can change your life. I worked with a brain surgeon who asked me why do think your brain is in your head? I was puzzled by the question. I admitted I did not know. He replied it's the fastest conduit to your mouth. What you hear and see can be expressed almost instantaneously. This is one way he would assess brain function by the ability to communicate verbally. I learned a lot by listening to you. God bless you from West Texas.

David Draiman is just amazing and he takes us on a journey with this song and his power is unequaled in my opinion. I am not a metal fan (more Gordon Lightfoot , Home Free and for that matter, Simon and Garfunkel) but this cover was the foot in the door for me to explore Disturbed and although my taste is not for a lot of their music, there are quite a few of their songs bordering on the harder sound that I have come to love but this cover is in a class all by itself. ❤

Glad to see you reacted to this! David is truly a master of his craft, and has one of the most recognizable voices in modern music. If you want to check a similar vocalist (who actually had some vocal training/coaching from David), look at Matt Heafy of "Trivium." I'd recommend their songs "Beyond Oblivion" or "The Sin and the Sentence."The band is heavier than what you may be accustomed to, but all of the members are incredibly talented. Plus, Matt's ability to go from a harsh vocal to a clean one (not just in a studio!) is fascinating. Recent subscriber, really enjoy your content! Even with a lower-set voice, I'm learning quite a bit from your channel. Thanks!

Hi Jen, love your reactions. If you like you could listen to Henk Poort's version that he performed on a Dutch TV show called Beste Zangers. Henk being a classical trained singer had to learn to use distortion safely so he could perform this song for Floor Jansen of Nightwish

Thank you for another great video. Always great to have a 20-30 minute slot of fun in the day!! Always love how you explain and give examples of how certain sounds are made. My dogs usually look at me like Im an idiot making some of these to test them LOL. As many have mentioned, David is an amazing vocalist, huge range and supreme comtrol. Keep up the great work miss !

This version is amazing! My favorite version of this song. Great reaction Jennifer 🙂 You mention our being fortunate to be able to listen to so many different things. That's why I follow a select few music reactors, you included. Found some great new things I didn't know I'd like! For something completely different, you might want to try LiSA singing Homura in the First Take series sometime. First Take is a great series. In this case, if you check it out, I recommend turning CC on for English subtitles.

Another artists that has this control is Lzzy Hale. If you haven't seen her colab with the Hu then The Song of Women featuring her is another masterclass.

First time I heard this was at the beginning at a 7 hour drive, and it randomly turned up in spotify, and I just went WTF just hit me! And I spent the rest of the drive with this on repeat. Love watching the reactions to this, especially when David really gives it the beans towards the end, absolutely fantastic!

Or ‘A Reason to Fight’. Or ‘The Light’ for a little more rock, but not too heavy to jump into. He’s such a great vocalist

Jen, if you would like to react to another “heavy” group doing something unexpected, try “More Than Words” by Extreme. It is… phenomenal, and has remained one of my favourite tracks for over 30 years :)
