The fact that this guy started as a rapper from Atlanta (with the group Goodie Mob) is still mind boggling to me because of how his career evolved..

He's always the consummate performer, liking to dress up in different styles while performing. Here, he has to band in school uniforms. At the MTV Fashion Awards, they had a Star Wars theme with Celo wearing a full Darth Vader costume, taking the helmet off when he began to sing.

This was a song you could tell other people were listening to in their cars by just watching.. we would be driving and start seeing everyone in the car in front of us just start rocking and the occupants would be throwing their hands up and basically dancing while sitting.. We would start flipping radio channels and would always find this playing. Such a good groove, especially at the time it came out.

Hey Beth, it's an amazing song! You have to watch their live performance of this song at The Grammys. It's next level, not in small part because of the added visuals, arrangements, and showmanship. All of it supporting Cee-Lo to deliver one of the greatest performances I've seen at that event. Cheers!

For me, who always criticizes the low quality of music since the turn of the millennium, I have to admit: this song is a classic. Simple and sophisticated, strong and subtle at the same time. I love the strings, so 70's

I completely forgot about this song!! And its a perfect choice for a vocal coach analysis. He has such a distinct voice!!! 💚💜 Still a funny story though, how a part of me was oddly disappointed. At first glance I could have swore I saw CHARLES Barkley in the title... and I'm assuming CB can't sing a lick so it would have been hilarious to watch him give it a shot (not to make fun of, but to have fun with)!!! 🤣🤣🤣

I'm surprised that you haven't reacted yet to Dobie Gray's "Drift Away", an iconic soul song about finding relief in music. He was a great musician and person. Upon his death from cancer, he left all his musical assets (including royalties) in trust to St. Jude Children's Hospital and The Tennessee School for the Blind.

Hello Beth For this performance on "Letterman Show", they used student musicians from a local performance arts or public school. (sorry I forgot exactly) This is why, you will notice most of the instrument and backup singers looking like they are somewhere between 16-19 years old. Of course, the guy playing the keyboard in the shades was Danger Mouse, the other half of 'Gnarls Barkley'. Listened to your version of "Wicked Games". It was WICKED!! You did very good with your range, tonality, and cadence. Of other people's cover of the song, I would say your version is my 3rd favorite one, at least. Don't be afraid to do other covers. You have a great voice!!)) Stay true to yourself and Be Bold with your Talents!!

Brian Burton is a huge fan of spaghetti western music and has even done an album on that music. He sampled the song "Last Men Standing" by Gian Piero Reverberi and Gian Franco Reverberi from "Django, Prepare a Coffin," which is the beat and string section for this song.

First time I heard this was actually at karaoke probably about 15 years ago. Some guy at the show (I don't know who it was) had his friends put him up to sing it and he completely DESTROYED IT. Since then, I looked up the original and was amazed how much he was able to sound like the original. I haven't seen this particular performance though.

This is one of my favorite records. If you get time check out their two albums you'll be happy you did. As a music geek you'll be thrilled at their technical skill and fun they have with bending rules. This analysis was great and even though ive heard this song an innumerable amount of times this video opens it up more to what he's doing that i don't have the musical expertise to recognize. Thanks I appreciate the song even more now! Please please please do more analysis of their stuff! And or Prince
