I think Mitch's vocal range is really spotlighted in "The Prayer" that they just release a little while ago. It is with their new bass singer, Matt. Avi, the former bass and second soloist in "Halleluhah" left the group amicably to go on to do other things and is still releasing music. Scott (the first soloist) will take up the bass line when the bass singer has a solo, as you heard in this arrangement. This track always gives me goosebumps, as does "Sound of Silence". Christmas is definitely their best genre, but they've rarely had a "dud" with any of their covers or original pieces. If you want to hear them individually, Scott and Mitch make up "Superfruit", and Avi, Kristin, and Kevin all have solo work. Kevin is also a celloist (cellist?). Their collaboration with Lindsey Stirling on Radioactive is very good, as is their recent collab "Over the River" is a treat.

The first time I heard Pentatonix, years ago, sing anything, I cried. I am not ashamed of tearing up for a beautiful blending of voices. I love four part harmony and choir singing and such. I think one of the best I heard was the Statler Brothers doing a song called Bed of Roses. I also am a huge fan of The Oak Ridge Boys doing American Made and a few others of theirs as well. I love the blending of the harmonies in the Beach Boys Kokomo. I am a deep Baritone and can hit bass if I try, but I can also hit a full on middle tenor if I want to. I cannot go from one extreme to the other without sliding there, but I can do moderation within a particular vocal range with ease. These guys (and gal), are superb at it. I have heard practically every major release from Pentatonix since I first heard them. They are the most incredible blend of disparate vocals melded together into a pleasing whole I think I have ever heard. And just to establish my range, I can do all four parts of Elvira if I must, and I can fill any of the four that a group is missing. I feel most comfortable with the baritone, but can do any of the other three as well.

Yes, I 100% feel the same way. Vocal music in particular (and especially Pentatonix) really pull at my heart, and the first time I heard their version of Hallelujah I definitely cried. Absolute magic!

This one is still in the Top Emotional Overload Pentatonix Songs. Goosebumps every time. Tbh I’m not entirely sure their voices don’t have magical powers

You reaction almost mirrored my own the first time I heard this song. I didn’t shed a tear, but I was completely taken back. As a vocalist, I know how incredibly hard what their doing is, and they do it so effortlessly. Just amazing.

I know it isn't a "Christmas" song but their cover of "Imagine" by John Lennon is incredible and at one point a wall of vocal perfection will hit you AND, if that wasn't enough...the video will def. bring out the tears. ALSO...an older original by them that really hasn't been reacted to much (I know because I've looked) is their song "Run to You" Oh please, please, please react to it or just listen to it for your own enjoyment! Love your channel and content, thanks for all you do!

This whole video gets me.....the visuals, although simple, add to the mood. I think this is my absolute favourite of theirs. It’s so powerful, it makes me tear up.

I'm with you. I FEEL music in my core. And I love Pentatonix. Their beautiful harmonies and textures are where it's at.

One of my favorite parts of this song is when Scott and Ari switch their baritone and bass parts. They transition between the first and second verse and its flawless. Its hard to catch in this video, but if you watch and listen to their love performance you can catch it.

Everyone who does "reaction" to Pentatonix is totally blown away. And as if their singing isn't enough, their productions and orchestration and arrangements are awesome! This particular song is magical and brings tears of joy and appreciation to your eyes, heart and soul.

4:54 the way Kirstin builds, and builds, and builds to the end of her 'solo' is just fantastic.

I cry all the time listening to music. This song or even Bach, Mozart bring me to tears. The beauty and depth of feeling is overwhelming at times. No shame in crying over beautiful music

This is the first time I've heard Hallelujah sing we're actually cause the hair to raise on my neck arms and back my legs mainly in my calves as it was soul-stirring it's hard enough to find someone who's actually has a harmonic tone that matches the music, but these guys all have their own harmonic tones they matched it's mind-blowing for me!

This song is literal ear candy tbh, in the climax of the song (around 7 min), you can hear the harmonies and they are all belting so well. But my favorite part is listening for the layered bass on there. Avi has one of the best bass voices I've ever heard. His original music is so good. And Kevin, geez, he is so talented, in Pentatonix's cover of Radioactive, he is soooo good. Scott, I can't with him, trying to keep up with his runs is very difficult, and Kristin, such a lovely range, and cant get enough of her voice. And Mitch as well, his voice has got some umph to it but also is so beautiful in a softer setting. I love all of their older stuff. I make playlists for a couple yoga teachers and they specifically ask for this song at the end and it is perfect. Overall Pentatonix is an amazing group and I totally recommend a reaction video to sound of silence

This is definitely their best Christmas song, just because it’s perfect, but second best is Mary do You Know. Definitely recommend reacting to it!

I know they did so many songs by now but this arrangement will forever be my favorite. It's simply perfect in my opinion.

Probably my favorite part, after having watched/heard this a ton...is after the voice wall...and Kevin and Avi breaking it down....the combination of percussion and bass....they do this in quite a few....but just recognizing what they are doing is amazing.

I love this version of Hallelujah, and with the added harmonies it brings such depth and soul. I see you're just like me whenever I hear a song done well with good technique and supported by an internal passion, it'll always draw tears to my eyes! I also love Lucy Thomas version of this song, very touching!

With Christmas coming right up, I would recommend their live version (not from a concert, but performed/recorded live in the corridor of a stone chapel) of "Silent Night".

One of the things that amazes me the most is the fact that they don't use any instruments other then their voices and bodies. They are by far one of my favorite bands of all times and I absolutely live Mitch's voice. It is so pure.

I actually heard this song watching an episode of Jersey Shore where Mike and Lauren find out that they are having a baby and it sounded so good that I had to find out who sings it. Never heard of Pentatonix before but they made me love this song, a song that I never thought I would care for. So beautiful. Another song was Amazing Grace. I mean WOW! Mind blown...

Sis, as a man, I am right there with ya with the 😭! . I remember having a teacher in college that would cry at amazing readings of poems. He used to say it this way, “When excellence hits your soul, it causes emotion.” Loved that guy. Great reminder to enjoy the things that resonate with you!

Their versions of “The Prayer” and “Amazing Grace” are both amazing a similar feeling to this one.
