I honestly never appreciated how much of a great vocalist and musician Harry Styles was until i heard his solo album which is now one of my fave albums out there. i think it is because 1D as a group were stuck doing generic pop songs that were very average. each of the members going solo allowed them to show their own unique style and vibe and i love Harry now. His music is really really good and he is very talented. So so good.
@pb25606 жыл бұрын
then you'll have to give 1D's last two albums a chance, by then you could hear the direction harry was going to (and niall too). everyone seems to think 1D only did songs like what makes you beautiful when they clearly starter to evolve to a less poppy sound as soon as they got more into songwriting.
@ClairesOriginals6 жыл бұрын
Agreed! I did enjoy 1D songs but now that they're all doing their own thing, I'm able to appreciate them a little more. Right now I'm enjoying the vibe and songs that Niall and Liam have put out.

Lucy Preece their last two albums were actually not really what I’d consider pop. I mean sure there were some for the radio but the albums as a whole aren’t what I would’ve called pop

Tara Thank you so much for the critique of Harry Styles' earliest recorded performance of "Girl Crush". As a 60 year old fan of this amazing young man I am honestly amazed at his emotion and ever growing talent as a superb vocalist and honest musician who plays from his heart. Whether he is understated, as in this performance or when he soars in "Sign Of The Times", he gives me hope for his very young generation.
@Anni_Mau5 жыл бұрын
I am 28 and living for him bringing back all kinds of great musical influences that I also love. I haven't listened to much contemporary stuff since I was a child really. My parents were never really into music, they listened to whatever was on the radio and I never loved anything of that until my uncle introduced me to his kind of music (lots of classic rock, psychedelic influences, some punk, some metal, alternative and all that. so much love for 70s to 90s music roughly. There are some artists active today that I love as well of course. But not many really). But I am absolutely living for Harry Styles. He feels so nostalgic and new all at the same time and the emotion he can transport is just something else. I am very thankful to be alive at the same time as him and very excited to see what else he will do.
@Anni_Mau5 жыл бұрын
@@girldownunder9043 absolutely! I love the journey you get taken on listening to fine line (the album) and fine line the song as well. The album really tells a story and is so well done - it takes you from the happy state of a new love through heartbreak and then recovery and new hope and the last track just pulls it all together, doesn't it? It feels like it's saying "yes, we had hard times and it hurt but now we are looking forward and it will be alright. We can get through this and it is a valuable part of life to experience this". Very reassuring. To me it also feels like ascending to heaven just listening to it basically. People were mad at the lyrics for being to repetetive but I think that really allows you space to develop your own feelings within the song if that makes sense? It is an album that I can really get lost in and just listen to it without feeling like I should be doing anything else. I love how well thought out it is and that he even grouped the songs deliberately on the vinyls to showcase the different stages. I Haven't experienced an album in this way in years and I was so positively surprised by that. Even though I knew Harry Styles was this kind of artist and with his influences especially - still exceeded my expectations. The emotions he packs into the songs while still allowing everyone to interpret them in their own way and leaving room for your own emotions is quite remarkable I think. Even the songs that are clearly connected to a specific person feel like they could be your own. It is just very refreshing but still reminiscent of the past and I am so in love with it. I can't stop gushing about it. And I also want to say that his band is simply stunning. Great people and all that talent he has put together with them - I'm in love. Keeping his own band with him through the years adds just so much and you can tell that real musicians with actual instruments who know each other and their songs takes music to a whole other level compared to other contemporary pop artists. And there is a place and time for both of those kinds of artists but I will gladly stick with Harry Styles on this. Sorry for the rant! I hope I made sense as english is not my first language :)

@@Anni_Mau I love how you understand his music , appreciate him and the hardwork he puts in . He takes his music seriously but also is ready to take risks and be creative with it . Unfortunately not many ppl focus on that , it just makes me happy when I see ppl genuinely appreciate him and not just for his looks . I'm 19 and so in love with his music , my friends don't really understand but that's ok lol , I keep on talking about him and his music to them . His songs are so vulnerable and layered , it makes me feel so good that he has the strength to open up Infront of ppl this way and still not them totally know what it's about , he has the quality of just making you feel his emotions through his songs .

I'm a metal head, among many other things. I saw your video with Disturbed and was pleased at how impartial and respectful you were. (As well as amused by your reaction to his peircings) You didnt write them off as just angsty noise. I thank you for that. It was both professional and entertaining. That was the first vedio of this type I had ever seen. I have since looked at others doing simmilar things. None of them seem to be at the same standard as you. I have watched many of your videos and to be honest the only name I've recognized was Pentatonics, none of the other artists were familiar to me. I had to make an account just to be able to post this comment. (So this is my first public youtube comment?) I'd like to make some suggestions, coming from my decidedly crunchy/cheesy powermetal and science fiction background that may not be familiar to you. I've tried to come up with some that I like, are appropriate to the forum and may still be interesting to you. The most recent of these is The Hu - Yuve Yuve Yu Beast in black -Born again and or by the same group the song Blind and frozen. (they have a good official vedios with close ups of just the vocalist face so you can see his jaw positioning and wide mouth and 5 oclock shadow for both tracks) A Rhinna cover of unfaithul by a group called Exit Eden. (Their offical vedio also has some decent shots of the group as they sing) Or the same group did a cover of Impossible (Shontelle) Both could prove equally interesting to you. I know nothing of the original artists, but I like these covers. Lastly but not least on my list is a group called Sabaton. Their song, Last Stand, is one probably of the least value to you, but has always been close to home for me. Ill keep watching and throw out more suggestions as the come to me.

Can you do a video about Harry singing Falling live at the British Award show in 2020, I cant remember the exact show but he was wearing this cool white lace with lace gloves! Def one of my favorite performances of his!!!
@wimflores3 жыл бұрын
His very wrong position, as his mother Anne said, started when Harry (as a child) was delivering newspapers around his town using his bike. No matter how hard she tried to correct him, he remained like that. He’s 5.9 but if you straighten that stubborn boy’s back, he’d be at least 6.2; or so says the doctor. His mother is very nice 🙂 I’m guessing that he wants to stay that way now so he doesn’t jeopardize the sound of his voice.

@@evangelineselvinson1096 Me? I don’t understand why you’re upset. I’m just repeating what Harry’s mom said in an interview. I positively love Harry. But it is known that his body position is kinda curved (his spine). If he stands up without slouching, he’s well above 6 ft. When he wants to reach a ver high note (the teacher here might illuminate us on why) that’s exactly when he stops slouching and even sends his head back. Let me repeat myself: I love Harry and I’m fact i just bought a tote bag from his official online store. Evangeline, after reading this re-read my old post and it will make sense. All love, TPWK

Thank you for your lovely reaction! It's always so interesting to hear what professionals have to say about a singer I appreciate! I would love to hear more about the technical side of singing. For example I've heard some professionals say that Harry Styles' technique isn't very good as it's very straining, too much chest voice, larynx not relaxed etc. and that it will damage his vocal cords sooner or later (nodes or hemorrhaging). This is of course very very worrying to me. :( I don't know much about singing, so if someone could explain that, it would be awesome, especially for young singers out there, who might have an unhealthy technique as well (if Harry's technique is really as bad as some say). Basically I'm interested not only in how a voice sounds in the moment, but also how sustainable a certain style of singing is and I'm sure a lot of others could take so much great advice from such a video! Thanks again!
