Natalia Lafourcade has one of the most angelic voices I have ever heard in my entire life.. I discovered her music about a few months ago and I still can't get enough.. This duo of Natalia lafourcade and Jaun Gabriel is so beautiful and romantic. I had to take my wife's hand and dance with her in the living room when I first heard this song. You can really hear the deep passion flowing back and forth between the two.. I really wish their music would get so much more recognition. It's such beautiful song yeah but it's a bittersweet moment as well as this one is one of the last ones he performed and composed before he passed away. This was the single, or one of them at least, of this last album full of duets with a whole host of different music artists. Loved how you enjoyed the whole piece and gave it a good and proper analysis. I kinda remember the Mexican media didn't like the song too much due to its simplicity but what you just pointed out is what makes it a great song. Thanks Beth!

Just a clarification, this is a fragment of a song that he composed way earlier than that (~1990). It is called "Lentamente" and it's lengthy (8 min or so). This fragment is about half of that song. There is a video with JG singing it live somewhere in KZbin.

You should do a song by Natalia Lafourcade as a solo artist. This particular song is from a “tribute” album of Juan Gabriel dueting with several modern artists. But her songs are worth listening separately. I am a big fan of her work.

Juan Gabriel was not only a gifted composer, singer, and showman, but he was a true artist in that he knew to recognize that the best contribution he could give to a particular work would be to hang back and allow the other artists to shine. He collaborated with so many Latin artists and helped to bring them into the spotlight. His absence in the Latin music community is felt.
