I’ve tried to sing this one in karaoke... and the guy really does his homework with cardio. It is obvious that he works out quite a bit- those long notes and long verses will make you dizzy. BTW, he’s criminally underrated as a rhythm guitarist as well. There was a time where you simply couldn’t see the guy without a guitar in his hand.
@boriscam43464 жыл бұрын
It is correct. That song is pretty much folk from that zone in Colombia (Antioquia). It reminds me of the traditional "coplas" or "trovas" in which old school singers use a lot of improvisation with a little of humor and even double sense in their lyrics. Nice job Juanes could bring that up and adapt it as pop music.
@xjudgexdreddx3 жыл бұрын
A small detail about Juanes is that he’s from Medellin, a region that features an accent that tends to be a bit percussive in its accent with regard to their hard consonants, like the P and T sounds. I think this influences his singing style to some degree.

The intro has roots in carranguera music. One of the many types of Colombian folk music. His first solo album fíjate bien has darker lyrics that coincide more with all the war and violence of the time. He has evolved without losing the essence that make him Juanes. This song doesn’t really showcase his singing ability. He’s an amazing songwriter.

This song in particular is really hard to be understood in different languages due to the MASSIVE slangs that Juanes uses in this song, slangs that are mostly used in Colombia and only there. He also uses puns and phonetic tricks to cover curses with other words but, when pronounced we in Colombia tend to associate it with such curse due to how we pronunciate it. Example: 1. [Y fue pura] todita tu mentira. Here we tend to mislead it with hijueputa, because of how Juanes sang that line. 2. Lo que ayer me supo a gloria hoy me sabe a pura [Miércoles] por la tarde... On that one he covered the word Mierda (shit) with Miércoles, why? Because in Colombia when we want to say such word without sounding rude instead of Mierda we say Miercoles. Example: Eso es pura mierda // Eso es pura Miércoles. This one in particular is taught by our mothers to avoid cursing around. This song was also released when many of us were kids so Juanes plays an important role of the young adults of Colombia nowadays and we didn't even get it right the first time.
