This is Katrina using her raw talent on an uncensored one-take and substantiated one-go of "She's Gone". Watching her unpretentious take on this difficult song makes me quite think that this was her good down-home vocal relaxation. Haha! What else can she do, I pray? I thought this was already her over-the-target moment, but then again I remembered she accepted a 24-hour notice to render "Anak", live. She had to learn that piece a night before the performance. That solo was remarkable. People are wondering why Katrina even posted it on her channel when it seems unflattering, to say the least. But you have to understand, this was done as a challenge to herself, prompted by her friend who doubted if she could sing the song without switching to head. For most female vocalists, this song sits uncomfortably at the edge of the modal chest and can be very tiring staying in that mode without flipping to head. It is not pretty but then again, this is her way of testing the limits of her range, sort of like vocalization for the insanely gifted power belters

Morisette is a huge star, even tapped by David Foster during his Concerts; Gigi has become popular lately, with her distinct raspy tone; and Katrina just recently. But they are all excellent singers. Yes, Katrina's videos are just bare; self-produced, mostly just at home. Get that video of her singing fantastically, while holding her baby, LOL. Really is a natural, powerful belter. Katrina, Gigi, and Morissette are contemporaries and a lot of our current singers are actually products of MANY singing contests in our country.We call them "contiseras" or veterans of singing contests since they normally start joining at age of 4.They were mostly influenced by international divas like Mariah, Whitney, Beyonce,Celine and of course our local divas Regine Velasquez, Jaya, and Lani Misalucha . You can just imagine how TOUGH competitions here since Katrina and Morissette and Gigi and A LOT more have faced each other several times in different singing contests here, small and big.
