I think on the last part of the song, Pather not giving all out was due to the interpretation of the lyrics, her lyric is more on disappointment and despairing(這空殼已經 不懂再熱吻). That's why she sings the lyric in a softer way. While MC's lyric(這空殼沒有心 如何熱吻) is singing by stronger tone as the lyrics is using a rhetorical question to emphaze the his misery. I think this is the reason there is a difference in their singing style in the last part.

Panther's a singer-songwriter who's normally all rock, so her singing is pretty straightforward. Mc's more of an R&B guy, but I bet she mellowed her style for the duet, as she doesn't usually sing pop ballads. It makes sense now why the song sounded good but also a bit off, it's the contrast in their singing styles. Incredible observation.

Interpretation of lyrics is crucial for performing canto music, as the lyrics often tend to be sentimental and sometimes even poetic (making it quite different from other dialects). Eason and Hins are great examples of artists well known for their storytelling skills. For this song, MC and Panther sing from a different perspective, so Panther would sing in a softer tone in general. It might not be the best arrangement, but would be fun to see more discussions about it. Translations would really help! Plus, maybe do more research on the singers and specify when they performed, since they can sound quite different at different times, just like Eason and Hins.

Panther is not a subdued singer at all, quite the opposite, Flo might want to listen to more of her songs 🤣

as someone deeply attracted to Panther's music, she has a relatively lower/deeper voice, and i think when she do duets with guys, she's not using the best tone she has (maybe as a compromise for female-male duet?), often fall to a thiner side because it's slightly outside of her comfortable range. She is a unique songwriter and i think her solo pieces like "underworld" (下流社會)（kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXurapmBdqiXhZI）or "in the name of justice" (以正義之名) （kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3LWmpyZn8iDjsU) where she did interesting experiments with her voice that's very much the opposite of a disney princes, and what i think makes her special. while she's not the best singer out there yet, i appreciate her fresh approch to canton-pop, and would love to hear what you guys think!

Would the messages/lyrics the singers delivered affect their tones? From my memory,as MC & Panther busy guys, MC performed/recorded his part first{while at the same time,Panther was not in HK(possibly in UK)}and afterwards Panther made up her parts to fit into the complete song. Btw,Panther publicly praised MC'capability when MC was rather new in Warner.....she even said that when she compose/design a new song for MC,she would not have any constraint in mind because she thought MC could perform any vibe/range/tone......

Panther Chan is not new, and I find that most of the time when Rozette points out some Cantonese singer sing well but not in her taste, most of them are from the order generation. MC does lots of busking before he becomes a singer, and maybe thats y he is more let go.

非常唔同意呢集， 首先陳蕾絕對唔係新人， 兩位助手其實都好唔熟香港近期嘅樂壇同埋好有偏好， 第二，呢首歌我認為陳蕾嘅唱法係較恰當，成日講感情vs技巧，呢首我認為係需要感情>技巧。 第三，之前成日一齊評jay fung 同mc, mc技巧係好，但jay fung係技巧同感情都拿捏得好過mc。所以如果呢首歌係jay fung陳蕾合唱，老師應該就唔會覺得唔balance了。

嘩，呢度好似好多mc支持者，我表明立場，鍾意mc把聲，但唔鍾意佢下下100%用盡力，100%用盡力唔代表有感情，早期（應該佢仲未紅）聽mc cover刻在我心底的名字就已經俾我呢個印象，感動唔到我，但技巧的確係有同佢把聲好聽。所以咁多首之中，我覺得佢老派係拿捏得最好的一首。 之後睇過佢live,就係有時會衝過頭，live唔穩陣，而且可能工作都忙，會唱錯歌詞嗰啲，我聽人唱live唔鍾意聽啲唔穩嘅歌手唱歌，不知幾時又會唱錯影響曬當下個mood。 講返呢首合唱，點解我話jay fung會適合過mc，因為聽過幾次現場，佢同marf/gin lee合唱都會調整個vibe同力度，同marf R&B多啲，個vibe鬆啲，同gin lee會powerful 啲。 最後，男男/男女對唱係唔同的，所以希望mc喺呢個課題都研究一吓。
