I am a Metallica fan from way back and I've covered that song and enter sandman and a few others countless times, this is not easy material to sing and she did a wonderful job. I was never a Miley fan but she has really been impressing me for quite a while. The reaction from the metal/rock community to a 'pop' singer doing a Metalica song hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be either so I'm really glad about that. That's not to say there are no gatekeeping fuck dumplings saying she butchered it and the such but it's much better than I'd have thought so that's lovely to see.

her voice sounds amazing in this performance!! also i don’t think that she‘ll have a problem with her voice as long as she does the growls and screams etc. correctly. There was a similar situation with Oli Sykes where he damaged his vocal chords (not sure if he needed surgery) but after he healed he could do that kind of stuff again (and has for many years now) i think just not quite as heavily as before but maybe the band just generally shifted from deathmetal to metalcore :)

This is not at all a personal thing with you but I'm tired of listening to people say "i have more respect for her NOW" like... what? You can absolutly like her music or voice more now, but ¿respect?, she's always been an honest person, much more genuine than other artists and has always been demonized for it. She has said she regrets many of her past decisions, but who hasn't?, and none of them have affected other people, she was living her own life, making mistakes and learning from them. So f*ck that, she deserves so much better. All my love and respect for Miley always :)
