@@joshi6898 Really, there's no exact difference between languages and dialects. In some writing, you might see that people say dialects are just spoken, whereas languages include both written and spoken aspects, but for linguists, they're pretty much the same. Languages are just self-important dialects. So, what's the difference between these two? Generally, a language is written as well as spoken, while a dialect is just spoken until it is promoted to the elite status usually for political purposes

#subscriptionsquad Hi Danielle! The second song "Usahay" (Sometimes) is actually an old song way back in 60's. It was written by Greg Labja who fell inlove with a young lady named Noemi. She is now 79 yrs old. At that time, her suitors and admirers was so many, among them captains and crew members of the boats that docked. But it was the musician Greg who won her heart. She says Greg composed “Usahay” (Sometimes) because “yung nakita nya na ako” (when he first saw me), she paused and coyly giggled like a high school junior, “hindi na nya ako makalimutan” (he couldn’t forget me). ❤❤❤ And this song was later on sang by Pilita Corales, a living legend singer in the Philippines who has a very iconic style in singing 🎙️

FYI, since no one else has commented on the first song -- this is what they call a "standard" in jazz, covered by essentially everyone. Composed by Henry Mancini with lyrics by Johnny Mercer (the legendary songwriting duo), originally performed by Audrey Hepburn in the 1961 movie _Breakfast at Tiffany's_, Academy Award for Best Original Song, 1962 Grammy for Record of the Year and Song of the Year. It became the theme song for crooner Andy Williams, who first recorded it in 1962 and sang the opening of it on every episode of his TV variety show.

The language is called Bisaya. Usahay is a Visayan word for "Sometimes." Visayan is one of the many local languages in the Philippines. Born and raised in Cebu City, Philippines, it is actually Morissette's true native dialect (not Tagalog/Filipino). So proud of her singing this timeless, classic, Visayan song. English translation: "Usahay nagadamgo ako nga ikaw og ako nagkahigugmaay." (Sometimes I dream that you & I fell in love (again).) "Nganong damguhon ko ikaw? Damguhon sa kanunay sa akong kamingaw." (Why do I keep dreaming about you? Dreaming of you in my loneliness.) "Usahay magamahay ako nganong nabuhi pa ning kalibutan." (Sometimes I regret living in this world (now that I no longer have you).) "Nganong gi-ti-aw-ti-awan ang gugma ko kanimo, kanimo day?" (Why did you have to play with my feelings for you?)

The Philippines has two official languages Filipino and English. Filipino is the standardized variety of the Tagalog language, BUT it is also considered a polycentric/pluricentric language, because it also incorporates other existing Philippine languages like Hiligaynon, Cebuano, Ilocano, Waray, etc. Officially, the Commission on the Filipino Language defines the Filipino language as "the native dialect, spoken and written, in Metro Manila, the National Capital Region, and in OTHER urban centers (Iloilo, Cebu, Davao, etc) of the archipelago" in accordance to the mandate of the 1987 Constitution of the Philippines. The University of the Philippines Filipino Dictionary is considered to be the equivalent of the Oxford English Dictionary and in theory it contains all the words that are considered to be part of the Filipino language.

Philippines have approximatley 187 dialects including 8 major dialects, Cebuano is one among those major.. and Tagalog is our National Language.. The Philippine archipelago is divided into three Island groups: Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao. Cebu is the capital city in Visayas; Cebuano or Visayan people speaks Bisaya where Morisette used to lived. maybe the reason it was attached in her song coz she is so proud to be one and reminded everyone that MUSIC has No Bounderies and everyone can understand or relate by feelings and emotions expresses in a song as she used to stand that Music is a Universal Language like what she was always did in her previous covers.. where she sang Korean, English, Tagalog and now Visayan mix with other foreign language.
