I remember commenting months back when you mentioned you had reacted to Morissette, and at that time you hadn't released it, so I told a few friends "a good one is comming" (because I'm a sucker for reactions with classically trained reactors ) and then I didn't see it! Now I know what happened lol. I love your style "you been knew" lol lol . Your explanation of what's physically going on is fascinating! She's been singing this song for ten years now, I think it definitely shows. What a talent. She's more of a pop singer, but she has these foundational skills. I know that Ariana G has a similar theater background as well. Morissette has said she uses Broadway songs to warm up her voice, which I found interesting! I'd love to see her back on this channel when your schedule permits! Great reaction!

Oh, I don't think you're heartless! I love these kinds of analysis, especially since you're being technical out of actual curiosity/geeking out and love for what you do, rather than trying to find technical points to snark at like some critics. Morisette has always been able to sing low notes. I don't think you have enough exposure to her so are not aware of her capabilities. Mori has incredible control over her voice including her squeaks, whistle notes, etc. She has incredible range also.

You should check out her performance of Never Enough (Live on the Wish 107.5 Bus), the strength of her lower range is in full display. Also her original song Akin Ka Na Lang (also on the Wish Bus), is a breathtaking technical masterclass. BTW, her squeaks/cries are a stylistic choice and 100% intentional. It’s her trademark.
@JimFranzRT4 жыл бұрын
I loved hearing your description of what is actually happening in her throat when she’s singing. I knew an opera singer would have a different take on listening to her. This was a great video!
@mikesuahtla98263 жыл бұрын
Morissettes vocal improvement in the three years I have been following her has improved immensely. Everyone raves about her secret love song, Akin ka na Lang and rise up but in my opinion her later performances of Fly Like A Bird and this song are far more polished. She is in my opinion the best vocal performer on the planet right now.
@arlypaulmigueldamuy52214 жыл бұрын
Angel, Morissette is so known for her squeaks or voice cracks and whistle notes. You can watch her sing her original song Naririnig Mo Ba (series of squeaks) at 107.5 Wish Bus and I Want To Know What Love Is @ MYX Live or Fly Like A Bird (whistle notes). Thank you and take care!

EVERY single "squeak" you EVER hear in a Morissette performance is 100% INTENTIONAL. It's what makes Mori Mori and most people think it's FANTASTIC (including 100's of vocal coaches). You probably saw "Rise Up" on the WishBus. It had over 100 MILLION views before being taken down. She proved here that she COULD be a Broadway singer but I'm pretty sure she has dreams of being much bigger than that. She can sing ANY style of music and there is no reason that she couldn't be a GLOBAL superstar.
