When she was speaking, Olivia sounded so shy and humble. She is still shaping herself into becoming this pop star, and I’m sure there are a lot of pressures. Idk, just my guess. Insecure people can smell that and take advantage and try to take her down. I hope she gets the support that she needs to block this out. It’s funny how people say she’s an industry plant, as if Hollywood would do that for an half Asian girl.

@d.t.o-xin62372 жыл бұрын
That’s what I’m saying 🤦♂️people gotta stop comparing studio mixed and mastered songs to live performances. Every studio mix has some sort of pitch correction or auto tune. It’s just studio standards. So people gotta get it out their heads that live performances need to be perfectly on pitch. The point of live performances is to freestyle the way you sing the song without having to hear the exact same song all over again it just makes it more fun and It’s just a different feeling. Look at Freddie mercury. All his lives were so shouty and full energy and his studio songs were soft and calm. She’s not a bad singer. She’s not a bad performer. People just like to hate things they don’t understand
@DR-fc1ey2 жыл бұрын
@@d.t.o-xin6237 not true, not every song does have auto tune or pitch correction, its just that they have the ability to do small sections and practice it with a high quality mic and in those small sections they can sing it perfectly, not easy to do it like that live
@storieswithc2 жыл бұрын
Her performance on this song is also spot on. I'm so confused 🤔
@d.t.o-xin62372 жыл бұрын
@@DR-fc1ey trust me bro they still use some sort of pitch correction or they use melodyne which isn’t auto tune it’s just a program plugin that moves your notes in the right spot after your take. It could be just fixing one note that’s off to avoid a retake. Even when doing a perfect take it’s still used no matter what because our voices aren’t perfect even for professional singers. You could do your take 100% but melodyne will correct microscopic errors that you won’t even notice it was edited because it’s meant to sound “natural” thats how crazy mixing and mastering is. We’re so used to mixed and mastered vocals that we think that that’s how our voice is supposed to sound. But you hear them sing live you can tell it’s different. Ariana Grande is a good example. She can hit her notes spot on. Yet you can still hear a difference when she sings live. Our ears are powerful but can be deceived easily

I think the issue people have with the voice crack is that she’s a pretty, smaller girl so there’s an expectation that she can’t be punk 🤷♀️ I usually have a hard time finding sexism in a lot of situations, but I think I’m right on this one! I’ve been in the straight edge scene for about 7 years, so I listen to a lot of punk (underground and mainstream) and when you listen to punk, there’s actually a lot of voice breaks/“imperfect” notes, it’s what makes punk… punk! I think it’s amazing that she is taking some risk to be that much more edgy. I think she is a real artist. Her and Billie are leading the way right now and as I’m heavy in the punk scene, I’m so into it.

Are you saying punk people have to be bigger, uglier girls? Also the fact that you are a Billie fan basically explains everything. The most privileged of people whining about being privileged.
@hhoges98952 жыл бұрын
@@aikaterineillt9876 I didn’t quite get that take reading the comment. I thought she was more comparing her to male counterparts in punk. I feel like Billie and Olivia have been put firmly in the pop category so when they change their vocals to add more punk styles to it, they get criticised for “bad” singing. Or for moving out of the mold they’ve been put in. And I’m not quite sure where the privilege comes into it? Yes they both are privileged but that doesn’t mean they can’t be unfairly criticised for things other people in the punk genre do on the regular?

So sick of people coming for her. Olivia is a star and i agree. Sure she was out of breath at times BUT all artists are when they're running around the stage like that. She killed it. So proud of her. The one thing i will say and i don't think this is her fault but more lies with iHeartRadio and that is her mic could have been louder as the band at times was too loud but overall, she was awesome.

She has one of the best live vocals i’ve seen in the past decade. And by that I mean: she sounds REAL. You can hear small imperfections and that’s what makes live music so great. From her old Instagram page, I think she's very accustomed to sitting alone at the piano, or on the bed with her guitar... basically not moving around AT ALL...which she needs to get used to I guess, especially when jumping around & covering an entire stage, etc. And I see that she likes to do this crouching/bending down at the waist movement too, which could affect breathing especially during harder to sing songs. In time, she's gotta train rigorously like many other artists for her stamina too. So I know she'll improve. Otherwise, I loved the way she crushed the long note in "traitor", so good. ♥

I actually agree w you. A lot of ppl are putting a very high standard for artists when signing live and sometimes i be like yall dont know what it is like to sing live. They just want live performances to sound exactly like the studio ver. Which is completely insane and boring to listen to Idk but i rly love lives performance so i can hear their actual voices the normal pure voice wo effects + cracks and all of their mistakes are actually very fun to listen to i enjoy them sm

You should react to Billie’s performance at Life is Beautiful not IHeart Radio. Her vocals are so good and the crowd is amazing.

I was also pretty mad at the fact that people were kind of dissing her for like having like one or two voice cracks in her whole performance like because before traders she had to sing brutal which is like a really hard song to sing uses a lot of breath and she’s jumping and of course she still not an expert as controlling her breath but she’ll get better the more performances she has like since good for you she has upgraded a lot and also trader it has a lot of high notes so I feel like it’s just normal to have like one or two voice cracks in that song

I’m like this is even if it actually was just like a mistake or like an accident because like naturally it just happens your voice kind of just gives up on you a little bit you’re hitting too many high notes at once like let’s admit trader has at least one in the whole song probably eight high notes maybe because the line “you betrayed me” do you know and she says that line over and over like maybe nine times and every time she sings that line she goes on a high note and goes off the radar which is also what I love about Olivia is like she has those high notes perfectly and amazingly so that comment that I made was even if it was an accident like a natural one because now if she did it on purpose like you said Tristan in your video that’s a whole Nother like topic because I know she would probably do that because she does like to do weird stuff with her voice like drivers license on prom she did something weird with her voice like that too also I’m really sorry for spamming you it’s just I feel like I’m having a conversation with somebody and I feel like I really needed to vent with this

Well I was there and there was SO many technical problems with all the artists. She was amazing live but you could barely hear her in person cause the mic was really low but she was so much fun!
